Some related hate news from today...my gf and I are moving (hopefully) a new build in a few months...and who's piped up saying they're going to enquire about a house on the same street....my girlfriends pain in the ass sister, husband and two toddlers! They can **** off if they think it'll be an open door policy or free childcare!
When it rains it pours <laugh>

Time to break out the Glenlivet Benny!
I did have a wee dram last night!

Been 2-3 weeks since I ranted, but cronut neighbours again...why can't the pricks f*** off and live somewhere else?! They haven't got a brain cell to share between them. The latest thing (along with the constant noise of kids charging around screaming constantly) is that they've either put a mattress down or got a bloody trampoline in their living room. The kids are jumping on whatever it is all day. You'd think the stupid cunts would realise that people are living below them, and that in 1960s build flats the sound insulation is pretty bad. But no. Our ceiling in the living room literally moves up and down while the kids jump up and down on whatever they've put up there. The parents must surely feel their own living room floor moving. Anyway, we've got coving in the living room, and by our front window it has split all the way along the length of the room, caused by the d******** upstairs. I went out and got some flexible filler yesterday and have filled it in, but we'll see if it lasts.

Have complained again to the letting agent and they're going to visit the family (again). But you can't reason with stupid people. Apparently the owner wants them out at the end of their lease, but this being the UK the tenants have more rights than the actual owner of the property so no guarantees they'll leave if their tenancy isn't renewed.

I'm hopefully moving in June (all being well), can't come soon enough. Would LOVE to still be here to see them turfed out so I can wave the cunts off as they drive away.

cronut neighbours in the flat above you.

They have two young children, around 3 years and 5 years old. Other than taking the older one to school, they never take them out anywhere. Ever. As a result, the younger spends most of the day charging around the flat upstairs (not her fault, it's what kids do) but because it's a 1960s build it's not soundproofed to modern standards so we hear everything - running, crashing, banging, stomping around literally all day. And to top it off, the young one also screams at the top of her voice at any given opportunity - presumably lacking social and developmental skills due to being indoors virtually 24/7.

I complained to the Letting Agent but all they did was send someone round for a talk and they'll "try to be quiet and calm the kids down". I said that if the landlord put down thicker carpet and underlay (they current flooring is well over 10 years old minimum as I knew the guy who rented it previously and that's how long he was there (and never had any noise issues with him)) then it would help - but obviously the landlord is only interested in making as much money as possible while spending as little as possible. Also a cronut.

They're not doing anything 'wrong', but what absolutely awful parenting. We've got a park literally 5 minutes walk away, even if they've no money to take the kids to the cinema etc. it doesn't cost a penny to take them to the part when the weather is nice, let them play and burn off some energy that way. Their bed time also seems to be pretty much anything between 10pm and 1am...I've not got kids but that seems a bit late for a 3 and a 5 year old.

The other issue is they don't speak very good English so when you try to speak to them about it virtually nothing goes in. But even so, they're f***ing morons who clearly have zero common sense or respect for others.
I had a nightmare neighbour when I was last living in a flat. She was also the head of the housing association so was doubly a f***ing nightmare to deal with.

I was still a chef so used to come back home about 1am. The b**** complained every time. I even used to take my shoes off to take the stairs up to the 4th floor but she'd hear me; even on top toe.

I had one day a week off so used to vacuum and clean the flat and do my laundry. She would hammer on the wall about the noise.

The washing machine was one of those combo types but invariably the dryer aspect never dried the clothes so I put them on a clothes horse with a window open.

She somehow managed to look inside the flat from the 4th floor and spot them and then I had a written notice about how that was against the rules (couldn't have clothes hanging near windows or something).

She had a shitty little dog. It yapped incessantly all day. You could hear it as it walked about as well on the floors.

I mentioned that to her after weeks of her **** and found myself on a second and final warning.

I knew I was moving out and then threw a party for everyone else in the block of flats who hated her guts.

She called the police. The police monitored the noise level and we were well within bounds and left.

She called them again and again about noise and they just refused to show up.

She then said we'd abused her dog so they came out. Dog was perfectly fine. 20 witnesses said she was lying.

She was arrested for wasting police time.

We then turned up the music and had a wonderful time.

Google ads, I think?

I've not done anything to them in years and have disabled their auto placement since I don't trust it and wanted to keep them out of the way - I accept that they'll not make enough to cover the costs, not worth making the site worse - but looks like they suddenly decided to be more intrusive on here?
Just noticed the ads. When the hell did I look at shipping containers? <laugh>
I saw one travelling down the M6 on Wednesday <roll>

Also appeared to be the day to move static homes, swear I must have seen 10-12 of them getting moved!

We've not had any hate in 2024...

People at the gym who don't put their weights away. Someone had been deadlifting >200kg and just left the bar with all the weight at the end - w*****! Probably the same assholes who sit in their car eating a McDonald's and just throw the rubbish out the window. I'd cut their hands off.

The what? <scratch>

Unnecessarily long, pretentious films.

Killers of the Flower Moon...it was fine, but they could easily have cut an hour out of it and it would have been none the worse for it. 3.5 hours is completely unnecessary other than someone wanting to be totally self-indulgent.
Finally watched it but at home. It took 5 hours to get through with constant breaks to go to the toilet, cook dinner or something else like wash up rather than carry on watching the film because after about 90 minutes I gave up caring.

I finished it and thought the film was a bit crap overall and likely due to the fact that I had to make it stop and start due to it's longevity. I know if I'd been to the cinema to watch it, I can't last that long so would have missed chunks of it.

Agree with the self indulgence. When I finish work I usually have about 5 hours of the day that's not work or sleep and in that time I've got s*** to do.

The adage was a perfect pop song was 3 minutes. Any more than that just showed you didn't know how to end it... And a fade out just highlights that!!

Same with movies. 90 mins is best - 120 at a stretch but that extra 30 has to be worth it.

No film in the history of cinema has ever been justified in having a 3+ hour run time (not including credits) even ones I've enjoyed, I only really enjoyed them for around 2H 30 minutes and found the rest very frustrating to get through, prime example for me is Lord of the Rings.

Another mass shooting in the US, but still need guns tho don't they...
This shooting was done by a gun instructor so he's technically one of the "good guy with a gun" types that 2A supporters have been claiming is all that's needed to stop mass shootings.

It'll be thoughts and prayers and total inaction afterwards until the next mass shooting in a few days time.
