Re: Leicester City sack Ranieri

1 point above the relegation zone, I'm not surprised. The reaction is hilarious. Everyone is so outraged. Loads of "I hope they go down" comments. **** off <laugh> This is why I hate football fans. Why? He deserved the season. If they go down then fine, part ways 'mutually', but you don't...

Re: Survival or Promotion???

If you ever get relegated do you think Short will back you financially to get promoted or do you envisage a Blackburn type scenario?

Re: Club Hatred

Most of the real bitterness/envy came from the Keegan era. Not necessarily because of newcastle's success, more because it came at a time sunderland were at a real low so we were literally world's apart. Up until that era and since there hasn't been a lot between the two clubs. There shouldn't real...

Re: Who's getting Relegated?

That time of the year again, shame we're not there to enjoy it...I'll put a poll in later. Sunderland - think their chickens will finally come home to roost this year. Boro - can see them eventually falling short. Leicester - if they don't sack Ranieri. Hull look decent and Allardyce will keep Pala...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa

hadn't noticed. Is that similar to other similar size clubs or do we seem out of kilter? When I first looked it was to compare with the scum and the vile (rather than do work) who are on 600+k and early 900k respectively. Having another look there Everton and West Ham are both on 1m each and Stoke ...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa

Has anyone else noticed that the clubs official twitter account following is going up at an impressive rate? Like almost too good? We're on 995.9k atm and at this rate we'll hit 1m before March.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa

I hope Lansbury gets sent off and we blow them away 4 or 5-0.

I'd take just the win too. <roll>

Re: New Kit 17/18

It's our 125 year Anniversary so we might go back to that badge for the season, I actually quite like it, as for the away grey shirt, we have done that twice recently, I have no idea why I don't own the Adidas/NR one actually. If we were to do something to celebrate 125 years i'd imagine we'd rever...

Re: Club Hatred

Home Newcastle is lovely. Frankly we need reminders of our heritage since over the last decade everyone's forgotten how to sing the first verse of Blaydon Races. This. I don't know the proportion of people who live in Newcastle on this forum but I really like home Newcastle. I'm proud of my roots a...

Re: New Kit 17/18

I'd imagine most club kits would be nicer if they let fans compete with designs and choose the best. Realistically we'll probably end up with a black & white version of that puma template that was posted on the other page.

Does anyone think Basketball would be better off with just a one game final?

I struggle to get behind a sport that has a 'best of' series.

Christ, forgot I started this discussion!

Funny story that someone I work with got divorced recently and signed up to a dating site that produced a list of suitable matches based on interests etc. One of the matches was only their ex-husband! <laugh>

We bought him for about £7m in summer.

Where did you get £7m from? <scratch>

I'm sure it was more something like £2.5m.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2017)

I imagine the rumours of a Rafa/Henry partnership at Arsenal next season will only intensify after last night's result and the fact Arsenal have said they'll make a decision on Wenger's future in the summer. I realise this happens every year but i think they'll take the twenty year milestone and sa...

Re: Match day thread- Norwich v NUFC

Surely goalkeeper is the position that doesn't necessarily require a player to adapt. You're stopping shots and catching crosses. But I do agree in that I don't think Sels should have been dropped when he was either, but then if you feel Sels shouldn't have been dropped for shakey performances, I c...

Re: Match day thread- Norwich v NUFC

You can't talk about Mitro's lack of confidence and then say you'd drop Darlow for one mistake. That's the biggest confidence killer to a footballer. I know this wasn't aimed at me but I both agree and disagree. Sels was dropped after a bad performance and a load of abuse from 'fans' causing him to...

My biggest bugbear of the season so far.

Can't remember who it was but someone made the point that Darlow has almost 'earned' the right to make these mistakes. I'd have to disagree, he's played well but not well enough to start costing us points.
