Re: Would a new manager with no investment do any better?
Everyone's entitled to have their favourites. Who would be yours? You're asking two different things there. Anyone could be anyone's favourite player. Even De Jong could and he's had about 3 apps. It's not the same as saying he's the greatest non-geordie to ever play the club with the most pride an...

Re: Would a new manager with no investment do any better?
Exactly, I'm not talking about JUST ability am I. Hard to see how you're throwing someone who had years of nothing but people slating him into a category of great non-Geordie's. As Colly has said, the club is 122 years old. To claim that Janmaat is the greatest non-geordie to ever represent our clu...

Re: Would a new manager with no investment do any better?
Debatable, I like Jonas but think there are some rose-tinted specs since the whole cancer thing went down. You'd have done well to find a positive comment about him on this board 2 years ago. That wasnt the year we went down though. He was good for us once upon a time, sadly that time has passed Ex...

Re: Would a new manager with no investment do any better?
All those except Speed and Given played for us at a time when we were competing for titles, easy to display those qualities at those times. Given and Speed we were Champions League contenders. Janmaat is displaying everything I'd ever want to see in a NUFC player in one of our most turgid periods e...

Re: Would a new manager with no investment do any better?
Countless non-Geordie players had those qualities. This Speed, given , lee, Albert , Ferdinand , Cole , peacock , just off the top of my head. All those except Speed and Given played for us at a time when we were competing for titles, easy to display those qualities at those times. Given and Speed ...

Re: Would a new manager with no investment do any better?
I like Carver as a person, as I did Pardew. I like Carver more in fact. He is just even more inept as a manager than Pardew.

Re: Are people being too harsh on Sterling?
Firstly, comparing him to "what most 20 year old lads do" is wrong imo. He's a footballer and has certain responsibilities and that's a pointless comparison. That being said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing a shisha pipe or laughing gas/nitrous. What people are right to get on his back ...

Re: Championship Promotion
Boro need to win tonight. With only 3 games remaining, even a win tonight leaves them without promotion in their own hands. So failing to win really would make it difficult for them.

Re: Spurs Boycott
16k would be unreal, I expect a crowd of around 48k so I'm leaving myself open to a pleasant surprise. Just not sure how well this has got out to the non social media comunity, which is well over half of our fans I would guess.

Re: Spurs Boycott
Are there any predicted crowds/boycotter numbers yet? So excited for this but at the same time I'm worried and kind of expecting it to be a damp squib like the Sack Pardew protest.

Re: Name your all time football hero.
In that case, what is your reasoning behind saying that anyone who doesn't respect Gary Speed is a t***? Try and dig yourself out of it, it's blatant what you were getting at you nonce. If I were you I'd be VERY careful of calling someone that word, because I've seen people get arrested and charged...

Re: Spurs Boycott
Some of the comments on this thread are so similar to ones we've heard year in year out for so long now. Will NUFC fans never accept that Ashley is just a liar and can't be trusted? Every summer it's "well we've heard this before, but it sounds positive so lets wait and see what happens." Every sing...

How have you come to the conclusion that insulting someone for disagreeing with you is the same as insulting someone who threw a needless insult first?Colly wrote:Whereas disagreeing with that view makes you perfectly entitled to call him a nonce?

No, if you don't respect Gary Speed as a footballer it is just plain bizarre. He was a natural leader on the pitc...

Re: What would win a fight between a gorilla and a grizzly b
By "intelligence" we mean that rather than just go in all guns blazing, the gorilla will have the common sense to know that if it keeps away from the bear teeth and claws, it will be able to wear it down with punches and bites until it is too fatigued to fight, at which point the gorilla can go for...
