Re: BBC2 Tonight 9PM - Russian hooliganism

Who would be in the middle of this filming it for the public go...

Re: The hardest Championship ever?

If Huddersfield do what Burnley did last season +38 = 96 pts. Reading in 2011-12 was just miraculous ... Despite a poor start, which saw them 23rd in the table at one point and still 18th in November, Reading went on to win 17 of 23 games in the second half of the season, securing the Championship ...

The hardest Championship ever?

The hardest Championship ever?? I got thinking that this season is turning out to be a very high level indeed. So I went quickly back on each of the last SIX seasons, at exactly this point in the schedule, virtually all teams on either 30 or 31 games played. Looking at the relative strengths of eac...

Re: On the fiddle ...

funny you mention that, I've played quite a bit of contemporary, like Lutoslawski, but never that sonata ... However ... now to be dead honest with you all (I've said to a couple privately), I took life a bit too comfortably between 35 and 50, where I had this routine-ish job to pay the house and b...

Re: On the fiddle ...

Truly fantastic. I remember watching or listening to you play in the past, you're really good. That was probably a violin piece originally, right? Can't imagine how solid that must be to play on the cello <laugh>. Have you ever recorded the Ligeti sonata? funny you mention that, I've played quite a...

On the fiddle No, not some kind of social-economic topic, or my dubious handling of any inter-forum game I organize, but daib0 here playing live on the cello …. It's a small ask coming up – and I know it’s nothing to do at all with footie, but just hoping for a bit of extra comradeship, shouldn’t c...

After ALL the English and Scottish and European leagues have now reached, and in most cases passed, the half-way mark. Here are the complete points collected from the first half of the season - however the BIG points are awarded at the very end of the season, so there is plenty to play for. As we kn...
