Re: Match thread - Toon v Burnley
These routine victories are awfully unsettling. Expecting Big Mike to announce he's bulldozing the training ground tomorrow.

Why are you all missing Brighton out of our remaining fixtures?

We should be about 4-0 up. Need to take our chances.

Re: Team for Huddersfield
Isn't Barecca meant to be terrible and has basically been brought in as a last resort?

Re: Pick Your Worst NUFC XI
I immediately come into these looking to defend players... Duff seems incredibly harsh and Kuqi barely got to kick a ball. I hated Duff's attitude. And I think there was a reason Kuqi never kicked a ball to be fair <laugh> I couldn't think of another striker who was worse in my time supporting us. ...

Pick Your Worst NUFC XI
The rules are simple: Pick a starting XI of your choosing of the WORST players you can recall playing for us in the Premier League years - the players must have made at least 1 appearance for us in the Premier League, so no Championship only players (no Pancrate or Khizhanishvilli, for example). Cho...

Re: Who was your first Newcastle United idol?
Souness brutalised that team. He had Given, Stephen Carr, Steven Taylor, Parker, Emre, Solano, Milner, Butt, Dyer, Bellamy, Shearer and Owen at his disposable, and somehow sent out teams containing Amdy Faye and Jean Alain Boumsong and nearly got us relegated. Definitely up there with McClaren in th...

Re: Team for Huddersfield
Yedlin is such a weak link now, I feel like he has an awful game every week. Clearly not comfortable in that RWB position.

Laurent Robert.
As someone who was made to attend both Bolton and Newcastle matches as a youngster due to family loyalties, it was him that swung it for me, luckily.

Dubravka is probably just becoming the next fashionable player to hate. We always have to have one don't we.

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon
For me it was a combination of both. A top class goalkeeper would have known Boly was coming and punched it. However he was fouled, Boly had both of his hands over his head at one point. Goalkeepers are tricky. Dropping him after one or two mistakes could knock his confidence, especially after he's ...

Re: Match thread - Wolves v Toon
He's won us far more points than he's cost us, and is clearly a better keeper than we've had for ages, but taking the mentality that he can be praised when he does well but isn't allowed to be criticised when he makes a mistake seems a little odd. I consider myself to be pretty good at my job, but ...

Officials f***ed us there mind. Missed an obvious foul on Almiron in injury time and they scored on 94:45. Ridiculous.

Re: Match thread - Spurs v Toon
If we'd all been offered even a point from these two games we'd have taken it. As it is, we've got three and are outside the relegation zone with the toughest fixtures of the season out of the way.
It's been a bloody good week.

We've broken our transfer record, won a penalty, came from behind to win and beaten Manchester City all in one day.
