Secret ingredient, do you mean the plug-ins? Not tried them, but just get a dedicated email client mate Most will give you notifications in the systray
Thunderbird works well enough, though lacks many functions.

If you get stuck gimme a PM Worst comes to worst I'll just remote access and seti it up for you, but it wont be necassary

I'm going to be looking at building myself another system, I'm interested in seeing what you guys would say to be the best processor & motherboard bearing in mind I have an overall budget of around £1300 for the whole lot (including sound & graphics cards but excluding monitor or other peripherals). Would be a big help .
