Now quite apart from the fact Labour has no offices of state atm, because they are in opposition, I think Jeremy is forgetting that PM is one of the great offices of state. So May + Rudd = 2 already.
I don't usually like the term 'virtue signalling' but its appropriate here. Its also foolish imo when your party has never had a female leader and your opponents are at their second female PM. You look like the people who talk about gender equality when the other side just get on with it

He's mentioned a rent cap which is f***ing hilarious. Empirical research plus common sense says it's not a good idea. I actually really like him as a man and think he's very principled but I've come to realise he's an utter lunatic and does not have a clue. Totally misguided idealogueHjl wrote:Didn't he mention some nut job plan for a wage cap?

Exactly. The only realistic way to reduce rents is for there to be more accommodation for renting. Not to mention controlling profits is a dangerous road to go down. What next; put caps on food prices? How about go fully Soviet and outlaw profit entirely?Colback's Orange Tufts wrote:Rent controls - > dwindling returns for buy to let landlords (some can't pay mortgages) - > bottom falls out of housing market - > large house builders stop building - > middle classes won't vote labour because their wealth has crashedSir Bobby wrote:

Ipsos-Mori:
Con 47%, Lab 29%, LD 7%, UKIP 6%
Not going too well with Corbyn.

Polls mean nothing, Corbyn needs to appeal to Putin and Putin only.
