Err, basic plot ish I suppose. 20s depression, farm workers, chasing the american dream sort of thing? Did a bit about Steinbeck whilst reading TGOW, figured it's loosely based on himself? Something of the sort, I'm not too sure. A mate of mine studied it TWICE at school. In year 10 and then year 11. Whilst I read Lord of the Flies and then Frankenstein

It's on my 'to read' list!

Of mice and men is one of the most depressingly boring books i've ever had the misfortune to endure (sorry, read).

It's boringly obvious, you can tell the retard is gonna get whacked about 30 pages in.

I don't really think that that is the whole point of the book though. In fact as it becomes more and more clear that it will happen throughout the book you feel more of the sort of impending doom that George and guys like him generally felt through the depression anyway. How George handles the whole Lennie situation is more the focus of the story than Lennie's death.

brilliant! I think that's really good. i'd definitely do that if i was a writer.

fantastic book. currently re-reading american psycho. then going to read the sequel of less than zero, 'imperial bedrooms'


but i said i was going a minute ago, so i best before i get engrossed into any conversations about books.. as much as i'd love to

I think the latest/earliest i've gone to is 4:30 AM. I do have stuff to do during the daytime.

I've seen you emerge at around 5am-ish and post something but ALF & BGD are generally solidly posting from midnight until 4am-ish which is why they earn it. You'll probably get one soon enough though.
