Some views from the lads at Sky Blues Talk http://www.skybluestalk.co.uk/

"Armstrong is going to be some player, he was unplayable at times today. Won the ball back, perfect touch, electrifying pace and two fantastic finishes. He was the main difference today and long may it continue."

"Just got back, very impressed today. Wasn't expecting much after the disappointing preseason games. Armstrong reminds me of a young - better looking mind - Wayne Rooney and was also impressed by Vincelot. Onwards and upwards! PUSB."

"Absolutely superb performance today, Armstrong looked like a threat every time he touched the ball and his movement off the ball was brilliant, looking forward to the Crewe game now!!"

Chased down every ball, pace in behind was a key factor as he managed to stretch the back 4. Could have had 5. Hit the post twice and had a goal disallowed. Looks a brilliant player and fits our high pressing system perfectly.

Glad he's doing well. It'll give him the confidence he needs. I don't think being thrown in at the deep end by Pards helped at all.
Kindly deeds done for free!

Coventry City Fan comes in peace & to say thanku
Adam Armstrong - what a player - been watching CCFC for 30yrs & yesterday saw the most confident debut from a player I have ever seen. The lad had everything touch,pace,strength,2feet & knows where the goal is - I imagine your future striker for many years to come.
Thanks Newcastle Utd for one top top player - pure class

Hi all. Another CCFC supporter here.

Armstrong looks such a good player for the future. Composed, very rapid....and so confident. After being asked about hitting the post for what would have been a hattrick he said he will get one next week. Looks the best signing up front from up north for us since we got Sumo towards the end of his career (Micky Quinn to the younger ones)

A big question for you all. What are the chances of keeping him after the end of the year if he is still doing well?

That second goal is very Armstrong. He seems to love those runs to get across the defender at the near post.

Welcome <gent> Make yourself an account!

I think the best thing for his development would be a stint in the Championship too. Hopefully he can help you guys get promoted and you can have him for another year <ok> It will also teach him football isn't just about misery which is all he has experienced at Newcastle so far <laugh>.

Looks like an all round great debut. I hope he gets a hat-full of goals there and gets his confidence up. Question is, where to then? Championship loan or back to us? That'll be interesting to see. Either way, delighted for the lad.

Great to see Arma getting a couple of goals. Hopefully he gets a hatful this years and gets another loan move to the Championship next year. He could develop in a similar fashion to Bamford.
