So, only a 3 day weekend this time around! Again it is staggered starts for the 3 teams chasing automatic promotion from the Championship with Huddersfield playing tonight, The Toon with the more traditional 3:00pm Saturday afternoon kick-off and Brighton in the Saturday tea-time slot. Huddersfield should overcome a struggling Bristol City tonight at Ashton Gate although The Robins will be desperate to take all 3 points in their battle against relegation and the other game tonight sees play-off hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday and Reading face each other. The Toons' fortunes will depend on whether they can maintain their away form and, if so, they should easily dispose of Birmingham City who have struggled to hit form under Gianfranco Zola. Brighton face a tough task away to Leeds United who, whilst comfortably in the play-off positions, will still harbour hopes of automatic promotion and I can see the Seagulls dropping points tomorrow evening. The other "stand out" fixture in The Championship is at the City Ground where Nottingham Forest will take on neighbours Derby County with both sets of players looking to impress their new managers and defeat for The Florists could have them in the bottom 3 come Saturday evening.
In the Premier League Chelsea appear to have the title wrapped up so the focus is on the battle for survival. Our North East "cousins" both have tricky home games especially the smoggies who, having dispensed with the services of Aitor Karanka, take on an improving Manchester United. The mackems meanwhile are at home to Burnley who have yet to win away from home this season but surely this run must end tomorrow? Of the other teams in trouble Hull travel to Everton, Palace entertain Watford whilst Bournemouth and Swansea clash in the "six-pointer". Champions League quarter finalists Leicester City are at West Ham but are they really relegation candidates?

1-0 Bristol City. Sounds like a serious injury to a Huddersfield player.

Yeah pretty much. Bristol have been much the better team. Scoreline doesn't flatter them too much.Johnny from the block wrote:Are Huddersfield was bad as the scoreline?

Let's just hope we can take advantage of this tomorrow!
Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 17 to 19 MARCH 2017
But, but I thought Huddersfield were going to win every single remaining game this season??
