Given those stats, he's worth a second coming.
I'll get crucified for this, but he's nailed on for a starting place.

No. Mitrovic should.

Joey Barton was too slow to play right midfield for us.. but he still did a good job out there.

A lack of speed is completely eradicated if a player is smart enough to make the most out of the attributes they have.

Gayle has started 7 matches, scored 3 and had 1 assist, in this season's Premier League.
If he starts today, then I think we'll win, although Joselu should be dropped and replaced by Rolando Aarons.

And remember, footballers run around, they don't stay in the same position in the whole match, they find themselves out of position all the time, so it is a big myth that players become useless if the manager plays them in the 'wrong' position. That's what I think.

He definitely should've scored the one where he hit the bar. I reckon Shola would've put that away. Also think eh should've done better with his otehr chances too.

He hit the crossbar with a deft chip. Here it is at 0.33-0.41.

I strongly disagree - I think his chip was absolutely excellent. Here it is, for anyone who is curious. 0.33-0.41

If he was aiming for the bar I agree it's a fantastic hit. I'd prefer him to go for goal though.

Not sure you’re quite clear of what the intended purpose of a chip is...

I didn't know that the definition of chip included a specified purpose.

Gayle has now started 9 matches, scored 3 and had 1 assist, in this season's Premier League. He has, in recent weeks, dipped strongly in form.
