It would be typical for us to be taken over by the only Sheikh with no money

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!
So this guy isn't related to the Man City owner which is a massive relief, it eliminates a lot of questions about conflict of interests, the second bit of news is apparently the club hasn't had proof of funds yet, this doesn't really mean anything imo, not showing proof yet doesn't mean they don't have the funds, also with this coming from the club sources maybe it's move to calm them down and remind them who currently holds the power, I don't think Ashley and Co would have been happy with the last 24 hours if this is indeed real, it quickly became a media circus again which would be annoying, I'm still optimistic on this though but if it doesn't happen there is only 1 factor these "5 close sales" have in common and that is MA

4th favourite to sing Mbappe
Glad to see things aren't getting out of hand
Does anyone seriously expect us to be mega rich? I fear that some fans do. I'll be more than happy if it turns out this guy can give us enough money to challenge Wolves/Everton/Leicester for a top 8 finish. I think that's pretty realistic.

I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?
Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!
No, I want to be so rich that we can buy the league. I want to know what it's like to be called a glory hunter for once.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:08 am4th favourite to sing Mbappe

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!
HH Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the most recent name to be linked with the sale of Newcastle United has announced that should the sale be completed he'll award the long suffering Newcastle fans with a long overdue squad revamp.
"I'll give them something that will unite them and signal an end to the suffering. I will personally pay up Joselu's contract."

Said earlier I'd be happy with top ten finishes and giving the cups a real good go.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:08 am4th favourite to sing Mbappe

If we aren't Champions League winners in 3 seasons then I consider this to be a failureTsi wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:53 amSaid earlier I'd be happy with top ten finishes and giving the cups a real good go.Bodacious Benny wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 11:08 am4th favourite to sing Mbappe

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!
This is going to continue to play out messily in the media, because of course the purchase of a football club happens slower and more incrementally than the 24 hour news cycle likes to operate nowadays. They'll keep needing to produce stories until the next most exciting news breaks, and yet there won't be legitimate progress or updates every 4 hours. And I'm not even blaming them for that, they're doing their jobs, but people need to chill and stop losing their s*** each day contracts aren't signed and Sports Direct isn't ripped down from the facades of SJP.

Football fans in general know f*** all especially about football, expect plenty of outrage etc if it isn't completed by the end of the week (which it won't be) .Remember Colo wrote: ↑Tue May 28, 2019 1:13 pmThis is going to continue to play out messily in the media, because of course the purchase of a football club happens slower and more incrementally than the 24 hour news cycle likes to operate nowadays. I'll be staying off Twitter for a while, luckily this place is reasonably sane for footballing matters, just a pity a lot of the members cant control their bowls

Bloomberg.com is a website which has a good reputation - basically, it specialises in hour financial news and information.
If you search Bin Zayed Group on their website you get this - look at the bottom right.

Just heard from source close to a Middle East tycoon,
That next season, Newcastle will run out to this tune.

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!
Mike Ashley, currently buying up every failing high street chain has been linked with Jamie Oliver's collapsed food emporiums.
A source close to Mike said "When this attempted sale of Newcastle United eventually fails; Mike knows he'll have to take the squad out for some pizza and pasta. Maybe even a couple of times in a season"
The Jamie's Italian chain was a mid-priced venture where a plate of pasta can cost as much as £15.
"Mike wont pay that much for some simple pasta" the source stated. "He'll want a staff discount!"
