They have released that one now, but I am at work so can't here the studio version, but the live version sounded very good!tomtom94 wrote: Definitely these two. Would have added Lostprophets but I have very low hopes for that record now that they've butchered what was actually a good song in Bring 'Em Down, and whilst Better Off Dead is good if that's the best they've got to offer I'll stick to the first four albums myself
Others, via a quick browse of Wiki:
Billy Talent - there's always been something about them that held me back from quite liking them, but they can write music, and they're now going for a "new direction"...
Green Day - apparently this is back to their old style. I like most of their stuff, so...
Linkin Park - wonder what they'll do next, plus Thousand Suns was good IMO
The Offspring - these guys always have a few hits even if they are the wrong side of 50
Marilyn Manson - I'm not out of high school yet, I'm allowed to think this might potentially be cool
Tenacious D - well, come on, you've got to love these guys.
Frankly, apart from a lot of bands from the 80s and 90s going for one last hurrah (Black Sabbath, Metallica, even Prodigy I must admit) this isn't really as good a year for the music I like as I thought it might be nearer the beginning. Especially as half the ones I've chosen won't make it out this year
Albums you are looking forward to.

That's what I meant - the studio version ruins it for me... it just seems like it's got no energy.aginairrr wrote:They have released that one now, but I am at work so can't here the studio version, but the live version sounded very good!
Liked the sound of it live as well, which is the real kicker.
That said, it's entirely possible the rest of the album is fine! But I am not looking forward to it as much as I was when it was first announced.

Muse are set to be releasing a new album but I'm not too fond of them anymore.
The Killers and MGMT's new albums sound promising.
I'll also be looking out for Pendulum's the Arctic Monkeys (yes there's another one).
A guilty pleasure of mine will be the All American Rejects though!

Here are some albums that should be released this year that I am looking forward to...
Biffy Clyro - they are apparently releasing a double sided album some time this year (probably around summer time) with around 20 tracks on and considering each album gets better and better...it should be a cracker!
Prodigy - They should have a new album out this year, probably in time for Download and it should be a good one
What albums are you lot looking forward to this year?

The Offspring were immense in the Ignition and Smash days but sadly turned into the worst band in the world with their sell-out pop s**** (original prankster etc) They had such a great reputation that was ruined by $$$$$$$$
Be interesting to see what their new album delivers!
Re: Albums you are looking forward to.
It came today . Certainly just as good as Lovetune For Vacuum, although it is only a mini album - about 30mins long. But certainly worth getting, it is really good.skalpel wrote:Mifune: Did you get the new Soap&Skin yet? Is it worth getting?

They've changed to a more upbeat style, quite like it. They have two singles out already.Amnesiac wrote:They're bringing out a new album?! I must get that!HarisWhoTheVuckicHaris wrote:A guilty pleasure of mine will be the All American Rejects though!
The album is out in a couple of months.

I really hope Keane go back to their old style with the new album too.
What a selection of songs that was...

I'm waiting for the new Metallica album. The only fear i have is that they'll make it sound like the mid 90's rubbish, even St. Anger was better than Load.
The only other album i'm waiting for is the new Testament album.

Slayer have a new album out this year? First i've heard of it. Please don't let Rick Rubin produce it, he ruined the sound on World Painted Blood.Tash wrote:Metallica new album, Slayers new album, Cannibal Corpses new album

Apparently Magnetic Man will be realising something this year
Would dearly love to hear something from Fleetwood Mac though

Metallica's album's supposed to be like a newer Black album i think. I'd rather have a newer Kill 'Em All to be honest.Kyle? wrote:I'm waiting for the new Metallica album. The only fear i have is that they'll make it sound like the mid 90's rubbish, even St. Anger was better than Load.

Wouldn't you rather have something completely original altogether? I never understood fans who want to hear the same album over and over. You'veBeenTiote'd wrote:Metallica's album's supposed to be like a newer Black album i think. Re: Albums you are looking forward to.
It's a given that a new Metallica album won't really be original from now on. Or if it is then it's terrible (St Anger, admittedly not really theirs but Lulu). I'd rather have a copy of their better album than a copy of their rubbish albums if it has to be a copy.skalpel wrote:Wouldn't you rather have something completely original altogether?
