I hope there will be at least some competition for the polka dot jersey. Until now, there doesn't seem to be a serious contender for it (while it's just a nice bonus for Froome).

Let's see if Geraint Thomas can make it to the podium as well, seems quite possible.

So what do people think about Froome? Too good to be true, or extreme cynicism?

Extreme cynicism, someone's got to be the best. Besides he's not doing unbelievably well compared to the others. He's only gained about a minute on Quintana on the climbs which isn't a ridiculous amount. Plus Team Sky have been great for him this year.

This, and if that person isn't French the press are going to get their claws out, it's like when Red Bull were dominating F1, partisan British, Spanish and Italian press were slating them every week. Poor losers, Froome's obviously clean.

Anyone watching the Vuelta, much more interesting than the tour this year. I think there are 4 stages left and at least 3/4 guys in with a chance.

Tomorrow's time trial and stage 20 will be the decisive stages, not sure who I want to win it.

Wiggins is having a mare in the Tour of Britain, he's even behind Cav. <erk>

Bumping this in honour of Cav getting his 28th stage win.
And in conclusion, how far had you got through reading this before you realised it was my signature?

Had updates from letour.com.

Did Froome crash into the motorbike or get caught up in the aftermath? All I read was that he started running up the hill towards the finish line.

He crashed into Richie Porte, who had just crashed into the motorbike. Big problem for the organisers now, keeping the standings as they are puts Froome into 6th place.
