Rosberg should have pulled out - Verstappen had the racing lineMifune wrote:That may be so but didn't Verstappen still not bump him off the track? There was definitely contact.overseasTOON wrote:
In my view, Rosberg left a gap wide enough for the Titanic to do a 3 point turn on the first corner and Verstappen was in the right to exploit it.

Rosberg turned in and seemed surprised to see another car there because he was focussing so much on Hamilton.Mifune wrote:That may be so but didn't Verstappen still not bump him off the track? There was definitely contact.overseasTOON wrote:

Red flag, definitely the right decision. Kimi losing it on the straight could have seen an incident as big as Spa all those years ago. Could've been very dangerous.

F1 is s*** and boring.
Wet races used to be the best races. Now they just trundle around the SC or not race at all.

Hell, that race got good after the second red flag! Hamilton and Verstappen drove sublime races.
Verstappen a certainty to win a World Championship sooner rather than later.

Such a nice sporting moment for Massa too. Not the end in Brazil he wanted but definitely an end that he'll always remember.

It was fantastic. Fair play to the Mercedes and Ferrari guys who came out to applaud him.Bodacious Benny wrote:Such a nice sporting moment for Massa too. Not the end in Brazil he wanted but definitely an end that he'll always remember.

Nice send off for Button by his team.
Looking forward to the race and hoping Red Bull/Ferrari can put Rosberg under pressure if Hamilton backs up the pack for a few laps.

Re: The F1 Thread
Well driven Rosberg. Hamilton tried to bring the pack up a few times but he just held his position and waited it out.
I'm a big fan of Lewis but Nick had the far more consistent season and drove well for most of it.
Some will say he only won the title because Hamilton had reliability issues but overall he took the points as they came, drove sensibly in races he wasn't comfortable with like Monaco and led from the front for large swathes of the season.
Looking forward to next season and hoping the new regs brink teams closer in performance.
Driver of the day for me was split. Verstappen for managing his tyres in the first half after his spin and remaining in contention for a podium and Vettel for his charge back through the field in the second part of the race.

Re: The F1 Thread
I think there is a solid argument for either of them to have won the title tbh. I don't have a problem with Hamilton backing rosberg into the pack, it's not as if he's going to just hand his opponent the title without trying something. I'm sure rosberg would have done similar, and it made for good viewing.
Will be interesting to see what next season brings.

Rosberg retiring to focus on his family. He's achieved his dream so fair play to him. Deserved his title and goes out on a high.

Re: The F1 Thread
Reckon there's more to this retirement than meets the eye. Something has went on behind the scenes surely?
I dunno
