Paradox
Anyone play any Paradox games? (especially the grand strategies) I think they're one of the few game series who have genuinely given me thousands of hours of entertainment.
I'm big into EU IV, CK 2, but VIctoria has always eluded me as too complex.

Re: Paradox
I've played the s*** out of CK2 in the last few months. Love it, one of my favorite games ever.

Re: Paradox
CK2 is superb like, just wish the DLC wasn't so expensive. I was tearing it up as Sweden earlier on then Norway and Denmark attacked me simultaneously and f***ed Stockholm until I gave them Pomerania and 900 gold. Then my vassals rebelled because I lost all my prestige. Now I'm just the Duke of Vastergotland.

Re: Paradox
CK2 is amazing. I haven't really got into EU IV though, seems a lot more complex.

Re: Paradox
I've been meaning to play CK2 sometime, but doesn't seem like a wise idea when I know it'll just eat up all of the time where I should be looking for work / working.
Re: Paradox
Love CK2, fantastic game. I've got EUIV as well, but haven't played it as much.
I love the stories you get on these games Favourite plays for me have been my dynasty fighting over the throne of England through no part of my own planning (started as Count of Norfolk, somehow my great-grandson ended up as King within about 60 years) and the Pope rewarding the Count of Boulougne's crusading efforts by granting me the "Kingdom" of Andalusia

Re: Paradox
I've played EU, CK and Victoria from time to time but nowhere near as much as i'd like.
But only because I spend most of my gaming time playing another paradox game Hearts of Iron II. Am totally addicted.
Edit: I've also got Pride of Nations and Sengoku but never gotten around to playing them.

It was almost worth my kingdom splintering into 40 different civil wars

Re: Paradox
Now I remember why I haven't played CKII very much. I can only link to it through Steam. Only I can't because it won't recognise my computer or something. Just spent 90 minutes trying to sort it out but their support is the worst system known to mankind.
Given up in disgust. Luckily non of my other paradox games run through it.

Re: Paradox
Has anyone found the AI in CK2 has got a lot more dickish in the last few months? My vassals seem to actually know when I'm weak and when to rise up now, the bastards.

Re: Paradox
Crusader Kings 2 is free to play on Steam until Friday evening, also 75% off the base game and all but the most recent DLC. They sneakily reduced the discount on the second most recent big DLC to 33%.

Nine hours of my life wizzed by playing Stellaris yesterday. Great fun.
Anybody else played it yet?
