Everton signing Schneiderlin should see Cleverley or McCarthy going out on loan/sold.
Don't know if I'd take them on a permanent deal but both would do a job in the Championship.

Cleverley couldn't get a game before they signed Schneiderlin so he'll probably go. I'd definitely take him on loan.Tsi wrote:Everton signing Schneiderlin should see Cleverley or McCarthy going out on loan/sold.

I'd rather have McCarthy, good player.

I can't believe people are wanting Cleverly in , he only played at Man Utd because he had good players around him , they made him look decent, but he can't get a game at Everton , so what does that tell you ! It just shows me how bad our midfield is , i.e. Colback , if they think Cleverly is good !

It tells you that we, Championship side now, at less good than a top half Premier League team. If we get promoted, we'll be a bottom of the table side in the first year. So Everton's rejects could of course improve usFootyfan wrote:I can't believe people are wanting Cleverly in , he only played at Man Utd because he had good players around him , they made him look decent, but he can't get a game at Everton , so what does that tell you ! Cleverley is average, but he's experienced and a Premier League winner. Serious upgrade on Colback and more proven in the PL than Shelvey.

Cleverly on loan, McCarthy brought in on a permanent would be nice. Try see if we can trick someone take Colback off us too. Might have to wait until Pardew is back in a job, though.

I'm 54 and I could still do a better job than Colback ! But seriously, Cleverly? I agree Colback has to go , but who will take him and pay him what he gets here , nobody ! So he will just see his contract out like he did when he came here from Sunderland , like somebody said Pardew might be in a job by then , as he's the p... who brought him in , along with that idiot Carr of course !

Shelvey and Cleverley are very similar:Duke wrote:Forgot how much you hated ShelveyALF wrote:Cleverley is average, but he's experienced and a Premier League winner. Serious upgrade on Colback and more proven in the PL than Shelvey.
Shelvey = 141 PL games, 12 goals, 7 assists
Cleverley = 143 PL games, 11 goals, 9 assists

Yes in goals and assists but there's much more to it than that. Shelvey's the better player by a mile.

I'd rate them as very similar in ability overall personally, even when looking beyond goals and assists.Duke wrote:Yes in goals and assists but there's much more to it than that. Shelvey's the better player by a mile.
Cleverley actually had a decent run in the Man U team before he moved to Everton, which for one reason or another just hasn't worked out for him. A Cleverley + Shelvey CM pairing in the Championship would be more than good.

I'd far rather have a defensive midfielder beside Shelvey to let him pull the strings in midfield and run the show. Cleverly doesn't offer much at all really. Tries to be a jack of all trades but is a bit s*** at everything. Nowhere near Shelvey ability wise IMO.
I dunno

Shelvey McCarthy Cleverly Hayden as the four midfield options rotating would be pretty solid imo.

I think it would be one or the other. They're both better than Colback so either way we're improving the team.

I think there's a debate to be had about whether we'd want Cleverly next year if in the PL, but I think he's better than all of our CMs besides Shelvey, and on loan he'd be very helpful for the rest of this season.

I muted all that pricks tweets, I wouldn't mind if they were humourous but it just comes across as attention seeking just like that cwarr or whatever he was called.Juliet Papa Golf wrote:Yeah it's that Thomas Clements fella. I know who he is and he's nothing like Cwarr, he just does it for his own amusement and loads of idiots fall for it.Don Sholeone wrote:I muted all that pricks tweets, I wouldn't mind if they were humourous but it just comes across as attention seeking just like that cwarr or whatever he was called.Juliet Papa Golf wrote:
