Shelvey has been class this season, but he's been shafted by 2 Premier League clubs and looked awful at a third. Cleverley is a PL winner and played a fair amount in that side. He's no world beater but he's proven himself to be an average Premier League player at least.Bodacious Benny wrote:Shelvey and Cleverley are very similar:Duke wrote:
Forgot how much you hated Shelvey

But Rodgers wanted to keep him at Liverpool and he left Swansea after a fall out. Winning a premier league title is no reflection on him as a player. Plenty of s*** players have medals. All Man Utd fans were ecstatic when he left.ALF wrote:Shelvey has been class this season, but he's been shafted by 2 Premier League clubs and looked awful at a third. Cleverley looks like he's heading to Watford on loan, they've agreed a deal with Everton.
I'm the scumbag outlaw. You're the pillar of justice. Neither of us like looking at ourselves in the mirror. Do we have a deal?
Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2017)
Do Everton not like dealing with us? They seem to leave our loan deals on the table for ages and as soon as another club comes in sends them there. I get both Galloway and Cleverley moved to PL clubs but how long were we interested in Galloway before WBA came in? And you'd think they'd prefer to loan to a club that isn't in the same league.

Fair enough, still annoying having to filter through all the crap from people on there, becoming a hive of people on the hunt for followers.Aldridge Prior wrote:I know who he is and he's nothing like Cwarr, he just does it for his own amusement and loads of idiots fall for it.Don Sholeone wrote:

Currently, I think we have a very good and balance squad. Is the best in Championship.
We have 4 competitives centerbacks.
Solid player in the midfield like Shelvey, Hayden, Diame... Usefull like Colback and Tiote.
Really good players for Championship with Ritchie, Atsu and Gouffran.
A very good striker like Gayle that send Mitro to the bench.. A future promise like Ayo...
In my oponion, we only need to sign one very good Left Back.
This man is Robbie Brady. One player who can be useful also in Premier League, because he is very very very good.
In addition, there are a lot of players whose contract ends in June that we can sign right now for free that can provide a competitive bench for next year... Koné (Everton), Affelay (Stoke), Fletcher (WBA), Tremoulinas (Sevilla), Honda (Milan), Kolasinac (Schalke), Taison (Shakhtar),...

If you have the chance to sign Cleverley or McCarthy, you have to try sign one of them.
Particularly, I prefer McCarthy, but he looks like very similar to Shelvey.

Yet remove Shelvey for last 4 games and we end up winning 1, drawing 1 and losing 2 - we dont have cover for creative midfield, far from it.Diego21 wrote:Currently, I think we have a very good and balance squad. Is the best in Championship.

Still no transfer activity
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

However, I'd wait until the summer before doing anything like this. The summer window is easier to get in players and who knows who else might become available by then.

Based on what? The January window is notorious for hard bargaining and higher fees because clubs know it's harder to get players in with a shorter window.Luque wrote:Cost you more in the summer.
