Match day thread - Wolves v NUFC
From nufc.com
Wolves (a)
Newcastle return to Championship action on Saturday in a 5.30pm kick-off at Molineux, shown live on Sky Sports.
The Magpies received an allocation of 4,200 places and these are now sold out.
It's honours even so far this season against Wolves, United losing 0-2 at home in the Championship before winning an EFL Cup tie at SJP by the same margin.
Where: Molineux WV1 4QR (31,700)
Nearest railway station: Wolverhampton (0.6 miles)
Return mileage from SJP 409
Team: Dwight Gayle has returned to training, but won't return to the side on Saturday. Christian Atsu is available after Nations Cup duty.
Vurnon Anita and Rolando Aarons remain out, but Chancel Mbemba, Isaac Hayden and Jack Colback are all expected to be in contention.
Stats:
Following victories at Bristol City, Derby County, QPR, Rotherham, Barnsley, Preston North End, Leeds United, Wigan Athletic, Burton Albion and Brentford, United travel in search of their 11th away win this season.
Their final tally in the whole of 2009/10 was 12, and 13 during the 1992/93 promotion campaign.
The current side have already surpassed the away victory records of our promoted sides in 1983/84 (8), 1964/65 (8) and 1947/48 (6). NB: 21 away games were played in those seasons, not the current 23.
Mags @ Molineux - last 10:
2011/12 Won 2-1 Ba, Gutierrez
2010/11 Drew 1-1 Carroll
2003/04 Drew 1-1 Shearer
2002/03 Lost 2-3 Jenas, Shearer(pen) (FAC)
2002/03 Won 2-0 LuaLua 2 (FR)
1992/93 Lost 0-1
1991/92 Lost 2-6 Quinn, G.Peacock
1990/91 Lost 1-2 Clark
1989/90 Won 1-0 Scott
1982/83 Drew 2-2 Varadi, McDonald
WWFC: Jordan Graham and Joe Mason remain out while former Magpie defender Mike Williamson has played just one first team game this season, in an FA Cup tie.
Now managed by Paul Lambert - who succeeded Walter Zenga in October - a 1-2 defeat at Burton Albion on Saturday ended a run of mostly positive away results.
League victories at Forest and Barnsley and a draw at Sheffield Wednesday were interspersed with FA Cup wins at Premier League duo Stoke and Liverpool.
By the time we arrive, it'll be almost a month since Wolves played at home; a 1-0 victory over Villa.
Previous to that though, Molineux attendees had seen just one three point haul in seven attempts - a 3-2 success against Bristol City on Boxing Day.
Eight goals were shared with Cardiff, but Norwich, Leeds, Derby, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR all left victorious.
Referee: Craig Pawson - dropping down from the Premier League to the Championship for the third time this season, we last encountered the South Yorkshire whistler in Rafa's first game as manager - a 0-1 loss at Leicester City in March 2016.

Going
Tricky game to call. Wolves are down in 18th but can play some nice stuff and seem to be upping their game for big matches. But they might also have one eye on cheslea next weekend.
