Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa
i know i'm being picky but 6 mins left and they're down to 10 men - we should have been going for third and sending out a message not just seeing game out.
all in all though once mitro came on we controlled everything, good performance.

Second half was spot on, less said about the 1st the better. Job done though

Solid second half, top of the league and an 8 point gap to p3. Decent.
Can see atsu being a very good player in a couple of seasons, hopefully it's with us.

Huddersfield v Reading tomorrow. Points to be dropped there. With Brighton also playing Reading hopefully a cushion will be there before those big three games.

Very enjoyable victory. f*** off Lansbury. f*** off Villa.
It’s the noise, the passion, the feeling of belonging, the pride in your city.

I thought Mitro was excellent tonight. Lots of great hold up play and off the ball stuff. I'm guessing Gayle must have felt his hamstring pretty early (even before he came off), hence how ineffectual we were until Mitro came on.
Ritchie, Yedlin, Gouff and even Colback (!) also good.

I had the first custom w***

Ref was horrific tonight. Villa allowed to constantly foul with no punishment yet Shelvey gets booked for clapping. Ridiculous.

I can't believe they didn't get a single yellow. Some horrible challenges and shirt pulling but ref just wasn't interested. Yet another poor referee for us!Obertans Magic Head wrote:Ref was horrific tonight. Villa allowed to constantly foul with no punishment yet Shelvey gets booked for clapping. Ridiculous.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa
I'm happy with the 2-0 I'd be happy with 1-0, I think this team is prone to complacency so I don't mind us not going out and hammering teams
Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa
Good win that in a potentially tricky game.
Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Villa
Tonight was brilliant.
Class atmosphere, the flags were great and Lansbury
Been to every game (apart from Ipswich) at SJP this season and other than the ending V Norwich, tonight is the best it has been. Our fans were brilliant, as was the team. Great performance, fantastic atmosphere and there is no sweeter feeling than deserved justice. What a wanker Lansbury is, that second goal tonight is by far my goal of the season.

It should actually be made goal of the season because of the poetic justice and immeasurable levels of schadenfreudeTJR wrote:Tonight was brilliant.
