Re: Pre-Christmas Fixtures

by UlversToon » Sat Dec 22, 2018 6:19 pm

OK, I don't know whether this makes me feel any better and this, is of course, not an exact science but we managed 15 points from those 10 games which is far better than any of our relegation rivals achieved in their last 10 games!

Cardiff City have bagged 12 points before today's game, which they are currently losing 3-1, Crystal Palace have achieved 11 points having beaten Man City today, Southampton gained 10 points perhaps due to the new manager bounce, Huddersfield come next with 7 points then Fulham who increased their total to a meagre 5 at our expense whilst Burnley managed a paltry 4 points.

I don't know if this proves anything but it gave me a little hope to cling onto over Xmas and the New Year!

Cheers. <cheers>

I'm going to say it now we'll beat Man United at home on New Years Day
Depending on who takes charge I may retract this statement.

Despite the disappointment of Sunday we're still a point ahead of what I thought (got 11 points and I thought we'd get 10).

Huddersfield and Fulham are big games for us, Mooy is out injured for Huddersfield which is a bonus.

Optimism is just premeditated disappointment.

I don't do realism I'm afraid.

I’m not saying don’t be realistic. I tried it once and it was without doubt the worst thirty seconds of my life but don’t let my negative experience put you off.

I predict 30 points from the next 10 games, the club will be sold, Rafa will sign a five-year contract extension and the new owners will announce a frickin huge war chest for the January window which shows their clear intention to kick this Sleeping Giant in the nuts and get it moving again.
I may have got the points tally a tad wrong but... <divax>

Huddersfield and Fulham before Xmas should be looking at 4 points minimum, can’t afford to lose to those two. Wolves at home we can get a point, they’re a good team but no better than Bournemouth. Their weakness is upfront, they won’t score a huge amount of goals.

8 to 9 points from our next 6 would be a good return and a realistic target. I'd be delighted with this:

Burnley A - D/L
West Ham H - W/D
Everton A - L
Wolves H - L
Huddersfield A - W
Fulham H - W

Burnley A - D
West Ham H - D
Everton A - L
Wolves H - D
Huddersfield A - D
Fulham H - W

Dummett went off injured for the Welsh tonight not sure how bad an injury it is but we have Kenedy at left back for the Burnley game
Hopefully just a knock.

Sorensen has scored again tonight, if he keeps this up we’ve surely got to see him at some point? Although FAC3R in Jan away to someone like Oxford in a much changed and disjointed team is probably most likely <laugh>
Sounds about right. You sound ready for managing a lower-half PL side in a cup tie! <gent>
