We had £10m worth of Muto still not getting a kick. I know it's easily forgotten during our good run, but one of the biggest criticisms of Rafa is his squad use, with Ki, Hayden and Longstaff only getting on the pitch thanks to injuries to Shelvey and Diame. If nothing else he could have come on instead of Atsu to give us a bit of attacking intent when Rondon wasn't producing.
And I think it's a fair criticism. His strengths outweigh his faults, but he's very stubborn about who he trusts enough to play.

I'd also add Schar to the list of players to blame on that play. He also wildly attempted to tackle and missed Zaha in the box, and had he done better Yedlin wouldn't have been in the position to stupidly bundle him to the ground - or had he done even worse, he'd have collected the foul first.

What a frustrating match to watch though. At least played on the front foot, but missed every chance created. Highlighted the lack of striker depth and not having a real plan B, because when things weren't working, I really didn't know of any available change that could be made.

Yedlin clearly to blame but Almiron needs to learn just to release the ball sometimes, we had a good chance of a counter and instead he pissed about with it, lost it, they sprint up the pitch and win a penalty. Hopefully learned a lesson there.

Obviously it was a fair pen on Saturday, but palace have had 11 penalties this season! They average 1 pen every 3 games.

And Milojovich(sp?) Is lethal from twelve yards. With Saha winning them, great weapon to have.

This season has been an absolute s*** show. I reckon Cardiff have more fight than us aswell
You can get odds of 150/1 for us to get relegated if you're so sure.
33/1 now

Or Dummett in the back 3, or maybe a return to 4231?

s***. Fernandez will come back in then presumably, bit harsh that he’s not had much of a look in lately as he was excellent earlier this season.

Looks like Lejuene's injury is really bad. Done his ACL in, but in the other knee this time. Not good.

Rondon was very wasteful. He had a rare off day. We should have won that. A draw wouldn't have been too bad but to throw it away like that is unacceptable.

Yedlin was horrendous throughout as he has been for most of the season. That challenge was beyond stupid. Javier Manquillo is a better player and that is saying something.

Not for me, a draw would have been a fair result but they're a counter attacking side and one good attack on the break was all it would have taken. The fact it came from a penalty was a kick in the teeth, but we didn't create anywhere near enough to win it '9 times out of 10'.

Just watched MOTD. 9 times out of 10 we would have won that game comfortably.

That Yedlin tackle was absurd. Absolute gift.

Today was one of those days. Rondon buries those 2 chances in the first half, we're 2-0 up and the way Palace were playing I don't think they'd have gotten back in the game.

Palace gambled on keeping us out and nicking one on the counter, and unfortunately it worked, more due to a few individual off days. Rondon is allowed a poor performance, he's been outstanding all season. We just don't have the quality to nick a win when he's off colour, sadly.

Meltdown in full swing in some quarters I see <laugh>

Palace are better away from home and have won plenty of away games this season with how they set up.
No meltdown here , just a dose of reality . All these winnable games that we are losing will run out eventually. It’s just fortunate that Cardiff look doomed but a surprise result could change the tide. As I say you never know in football.
No excuses for today , they were there to be beat and we f***ed it.

exactly my thoughts.

I actually think we were the better team today, a sloppy stupid penalty to give away and it was enough for Palace to win.

I think the bigger loss is Lejuene today, we look a much better team with him in the side, looked a bad one might be out until at least the start of next season.

Realistically, we need 3 points from the last 5 games. Even 2 would be enough really and possibly even 1.

As s*** as we've been over the last couple of games I can't see us ending the season with 7 straight losses, we'll pick up a win somewhere. We'll be fine.
