Rip to him

Still the best first press conference in football history
The only reason I'll ever remember who Simon Bird is.

As mentioned above, whilst his time here may not be remembered well, hopefully he is. Rest well.
I think the club as a whole at the time was a shitshow which didn't help.

He didn't make things easy for himself by getting players names wrong though given he was later diagnosed with dementia you have to think if that was the first sign.

It was always a big debate as to how he was never Ireland manager, on paper he should have gotten it ahead of McCarthy but I think FAI wanted a more media friendly face which as above Kinnear was not

Shame, wasn’t that old really - similar age to my stepdad.

Obviously terrible for us, but not his fault he was given the job.

Granted it's only The Star & The Mirror but Gareth Southgate being linked with the manure job.
Really hope that this happens <laugh>

Rafa sacked by Celta Vigo after 8 months in charge - seems a bit of a busted flush nowadays.
4 spots lower in the table, with a GD already 3 goals worse than last season too. Without familiarity of their personnel decisions, nobody can suggest he's improved their performance.

Hodgson has also "stepped down*" from Palace, and Mowbray is on sick leave from Birmingham City - busy day!

*stepped down before being fired

Xavi has announced he will leave Barcelona at the end of the season. Barcelona were beaten 5-3 by Villareal today - with two goals in added time - and is, apparently, the first time since 1963 that they have conceded 5 goals in a game.

Is that it for Klopp though and he's retiring or just needs some time away, recharge batteries and go again?

Pep had a year out waiting for the right opportunity and to relax and re-learn some fundamentals of the game.

Howe did the same thing after Bournemouth where he took time out, rethought his approach and waited.
I suppose the difference is he's in his 50s, so bar a Hodgson-esque career you'd assume next time he stops he stops. Germany makes perfect sense given the jobs available after the Euros.
