End of the day England got to another semi final, and would be disappointed not to do better after going out against the stand out team in the competition. That's a win in my book, regardless of gender.
Winning means coming first <roll>
Haha, poor choice of words <laugh>

It's just lazy sexism. Yes the standard isn't as high, nature and decades of nurture have seen to that, but I don't go and watch my local Northern League side and spend the whole game going "well that wouldn't have happened in the Premier League". Largely because pretty much every s*** thing has happened in the top flight at some point, but also because constantly comparing isn't fun when you're watching a decent game, which last nights definitely was.

I even saw one comment on twitter (yes I know) from someone saying there weren't any physical challenges in a game where one of our players picked up a second yellow that could easily have been a straight red.

Referring directly to TJRs point, that missed penalty isn't going to set the game back at all. They happen. Last time round it was a last minute own goal. The mens team have exited tournaments by conceding late penalties. That's football, regardless of gender.

Because you never see s*** pens in the mens game.
This. It's that attitude that pisses me off. If a female goalkeeper makes an error it's 'lol womens football' yet men are out there making errors every week. David De Gea made 3 within a month last season. Likewise with corners going straight out of play etc.

right? I'm constantly baffled at how poor pro players can be at PK's. Luis freaking Suarez just had an awful kick over the weekend that got Uruguay eliminated from Copa America.
You can’t replicate the effect of pressure when you’re practicing penalties. Some people f*** up or choke.

Nice to see the woman’s game on par with the men’s anyway.

That has to be one of the worst pens I've ever seen.

Why the f*** didn't our centre forward take it?! For me they should always be first choice. If you don't trust your CF to score 1 on 1 from 12 yards then why the f*** are they your CF!

Also that White lass seemed alreet whereas Houghton spent the entire game passing to the yanks. She'd have probably been last on my list to take a pen.

The worst thing is, this is going to put womens football back so far again. At times it was like a league 2 game which is a good standard for them but that pen was genuinely one of the worst I've ever seen. Better in Sunday league every week. Which is a shame as that's going to be the most shown clip which will massively devalue the womens game.

I would think the English would be in favor of VAR since Maradona and The Hand of God. ;)
