Is it
jo elinton or Joe linton
It's more the former.

From what I can gather it's a kind of jo-a-lin-ton.
Or joal inton <roll>

I haven't seen Joelinton play, but I've heard Tim Vickery sing his praises on a couple of occasions, including the last edition of BBC's "World Football Phone-In" on Friday night. He also said he was interested to see how the Joelinton-Almirón partnership would work out. He seemed to have high hopes for that combo, and that's good enough for me. I'll give him a chance. Boa sorte, meu filho!
Agreed. If Tim Vickery says it, it must be true 🙏

The potential problem is that we've got a few of those, and what we actually need is a proper number 9 to bag the goals. I could be completely wrong though, and him with Muto or even Gayle with Almiron flying about behind might be really effective. I'm really interested to see how we line up for the St Etienne game which you'd assume will be near enough first choice.
That's definitely been the problem in past seasons, where we didn't have a true goal threat for a striker, while also not having midfielders, wingers or fullbacks who could score at all. I still hope we land a productive forward, but it is reassuring to see interest in so many more attacking minded players in other positions, who'll hopefully contribute more goals than recent players.

OMG is a sneaky PR scheme to get season tickets sold
Buy a £40m player to sell season tickets that will bring in a figure far from £40m, logic seems to evade a lot of the fan base
You're forgetting about shirt sales 😒

Really hope this works out for Newcastle but considering he's listed as a centre forward and looking at his minutes per goal ratio on transfermarkt isn't too encouraging. They have him scoring a goal on average every 305 minutes. That works out at 11 goals in a 38 game league season if he played every minute of every game.
He's only 22 years old, and the apparently beloved Rondon had never scored over 10 goals in his three years with West Brom (despite making 38-40 appearances in each of those years). Now I don't know if he'll succeed or not, and I certainly can't judge his price before he's even kicked a ball, but I also don't think I want to rule out he'll score goals because he didn't have a highly productive record at such young an age. If he could contribute to 20 goals this year (through goals and assists) as he did with Hoffenheim last year, I'd be reasonably happy with that first season.
This. Sure goals are important but if he contributes in terms of build-up / link-up play, creating chances for our attackers, assisting and making himself a handful plus chipping in with some goals it would be a excellent signing. Looks like the type of attacker you can play in any position upfront weather it be on the wings, behind the forward or upfront on his own could work well. Not saying he'll be the next Firminho but you never know he's technically good, strong and decent turn of pace so could be our Brazlian Benteke / Lukaku so to speak but a lighter quicker version <awe>

I'd love for him to come in and tear it up, obviously because of the goals and assists that would come, but also because you just know some "fans" would be furious about it and would cry "hurr durr hurr, a few goals and a decent start and everyone forgets what Ashley has done, scabs blah blah blah not true fans wahhhh" <laugh>

Also posted an article on Joelinton earlier which contained this
He is a dangerous player in the penalty area for sure, but slightly differently to Salomón Rondón. Joelinton is less of an out-and-out target-man type striker.
With Hoffenheim, he often started games as a centre-forward before dropping into a deeper role behind Andrej Kramarić or Ishak Belfodil. It’s in these areas – with space ahead of him – that he is at his best. His skillset is varied; he is a very good dribbler for his size.
He is much more adept at bringing others into play than the typical target man, and will occupy spaces across the front line. Nagelsmann did on occasion use him off the right, which shows his tactical flexibility. He has good all-round qualities.
Joelinton is not a 20-goal a season target man, but he is versatile and an interesting option to have in any forward line. Technically good, explosive at times and physical enough to cope with the demands of the Premier League.
