FFWD:

17 May 2020, last game v Liverpool .. Andy Carroll rises like phollosus ( a cross between a phoenix and a collosus ) , to head in the 87th minute winner in a 4-3 thriller that breaks Liverpool hearts, hands Man City their Hatrick of titles, takes Carrolls goals tally for the season to four, and puts himinto the reckoning for Brucies FA Cup final squad.
Phallusus.

I’m actually sad that this won’t happen, it would be so good!

I'm actually pretty happy he's back. Loved Carroll back in the day.

I mean is there really a single one of you that wouldnt take a few games with Carroll available over Juselu or Gayle?!
No but Carroll, Joselu and Gayle arent the only 3 strikers in the world.

Think we should be aiming for better. Hope he does well though.

Does this mean we need to sign Kevin Nolan as a coach so Carroll can live in his house
And mess up the holy trinity of Steve's?

I figured he's been sleeping in his car at Benton waiting for his hiring as an assistant coach?

Never been bothered about shirt numbers.

I see him being plan B for the last 10/15mins of the game. We can then lump it forward to him and hope it sticks. Let’s all hope he rediscovers his form for us!
This. Wouldn't mind the occasional Premier league / cup competition start. In the formation we're going to play with the three at the back and big Andy receiving quality service from the likes of Ritchie, Shelvey,Longstaff, Miggy, Maximin and co we should be just fine. Looking forward to how we'll set-up.. means we will have a pretty solid bench with Carroll/Muto/Gayle/etc as the attacking options to choose from. <notbad>

Moderately happy so long as he is on low wages or pay as you play. If barely used then he will likely be no less value than Joselu was or would have been, but if he clicks, and I have a sneaky feeling he might, then he could be a massive benefit. Nothing to lose basically.

Great signing, zero risk and he's more fired up than he has been for 8 and a half years.

imagine the fear of the oppo's defence when he comes on.
As an impact sub, obviously. I don't see him as a starter, even over Muto.

He's been terrible these last couple of seasons, but if he's match fit, imagine the fear of the oppo's defence when he comes on. I mean, even if he doesn't score, he'll spread the pain around, and spread it liberally. Big Andy on a pay-as-you-play? Bring it on!

He's a shadow of the player he could have been when he left for Liverpool.

Is he a better option than Joselu? Certainly but that's a low bar to beat.
