Three cheers, Hip Hip Hooray
For newly appointed Tony Mowbray
According to some on SMB
Saltburn's answer to Bill Shankly
But not all think he's right
For the Stadium of Light
Where coaching careers are often short
Some get sacked, others abort
Over the last ten years
Several felt the pruning shears
First to lose his appeal
Was Irishman Martin O'Neill
Di Canio got the Bronx Cheer
After only half a year
Guy Poyet a few months more
Before he was shown the door
Next up Dick Advocaat
Very quick to depart
Along came Sam Allardyce
All over in a trice
David Moyes took the next call
Then saw the writing on the wall
For Simon Grayson's time did fly
In and out in the blink of an eye
The same for Chris Coleman
His tenure, another short span
Congratulations to Jack Ross
More than a year as Sunderland boss
Phil Parkinson, not quite as long
Till he was told to run along
Lee Johnson served a year
Before his desk he had to clear
Alex Neil dropped by then went
Off to sunnier Stoke on Trent

Wasn't feeling good for while
But not yet ready for the exit turnstile
And if you ever feel a little low
Just log on to Ready to Go
And see before you open and unfurled
That parallel universe of the Mackem World
But if you want discussion with decorum
You're best sticking to this forum
Hope you’re on the mend!

Strange goings on at the Stadium of Light
On Ready to Go some are getting uptight
Alex Neil has severed his connection
And pottered off in a different direction

He has generated a Macken backlash,
Some think he departed for more cash
And none of them would leave their job
If a rival firm offered a few more bob

Others say he wanted experience over youth
It's difficult to know what's really the truth
Methinks he wanted to be in the promotion mix
And at least contend for the top six

Whether he manages to bring home the bacon
Or his move proves ultimately mistaken
Only the coming season will reveal
If he made the right deal
<awe> Always grand to see your posts, been a while!

f*** me, they are fourth in the league above <laugh> Even if he had taken them as far as he can, he's not going to drop a bleeding league down is he, he's going to use it as a spring board to a potentially better job. Like Newcastle when Howe get's tapped for England :bandit:

True, they’re still not likely to get promoted tho.

Speaks volumes that your manager sees Stoke as a better prospect <laugh>
Neil wanted experience, board had policy of buying young promising players.

But also ppl overlook that Stoke spend alot. The bet365 family own them and have ploughed loads in

3 yr contract which knocks the rtg argument that he only signs 1yr rolling contracts also Mowbray set to replace him a fan favourite as well <roll>

Looks like he's gone. Sean Dyche in next?

then mackems can say "Howe couldn't hack in at Burnley, had to get Dyche in to do a real job"
I'd be surprised if Dyche goes there, behind the scenes Sunderland are a basket case of a club.
