It's in our own hands now, all we have to is beat Villa and West Ham at home and safety is assured! Actually feeling positive after Saturdays result although it was a bit too close for comfort.

I don't think we're in danger of relegation, but no way are we getting 44 points <laugh>

I'm not counting my chickens just yet. In 2014/15 we had 35 points after 27 games and almost blew it.

16/1 for us to get relegated. Worth a cheeky £100 punt? Will soothe the pain! <whistle> <urgh>

or should I put £100 on us finishing in the top half.. 10/1 <scratch>
Or do both, a long strangle option https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/strangle.asp

(this is not investment advice)

To use a BGD inspired analogy, I'm not shitting my pants yet, but I'm touching cloth
To carry on this analogy. I've found a loo, but there's a queue. Should be fine but there's always that doubt. Depends as much on how others get on...

Not as worried as I was when I originally made this post!

I am now officially no longer nervous. We'd have to lose every single game for us to go down now. I reckon 37 points sees you stay up this season so one more win should do it. Time to focus on the cup!

Last 15 seasons minimum number of points to stay up.

2018/19: 35
2017/18: 34
2016/17: 35
2015/16: 38
2014/15: 36
2013/14: 34
2012/13: 37
2011/12: 37
2010/11: 40
2009/10: 31
2008/09: 35
2007/08: 37
2006/07: 39
2005/06: 35
2004/05: 34

So unless it's going to be one of those seasons where 39+ points are needed to stay up (fingers crossed it's not), a couple of wins and a draw should be enough.
Massive win today (especially with other results going our way). One more win should do it. Maybe even a couple of draws.

The home game with Villa will have to be re-arranged as it was due to take place on the day of the FA Cup 6th round.

Could do with getting 5 or 6 points from the next 5 games, which surely we must be capable of achieving, as I can't see us taking much from the final 5 games.
My thoughts exactly.

I'm definitely sliding towards the worried camp now. This weekends results have not been good for us at all. Worse than that is our performances have been unspectacular at best. Three goals in the league this calender year, all after the 90th minute to scrape results and paper over the cracks. Haven't scored in the league since those two late, late goals against Everton end of January.

We aren't exactly defensively solid either. The draws against Burnley and Norwich just illustrate that any half decent team is going to best us. I know Burnley are having a decent season and a point isn't the worst result in the world, but at this stage of the season we definitely needed more.

That one elusive win will give us back some breathing space, but as it stands we seem to be sleepwalking into danger.
