What a week for former NUFC managers, Pardew at CSKA Sofia and now McClaren at Derby!

How many of them are there and how big is the table? I’ve got a four seater dining table but I think I could squeeze six around it.
Who gets stuck in my daughter's high chair? <scratch> It's okay, it's a stocke tripp trapp, I can adjust for size.

Not even to go for a wee?
With Ashley owning the club, we haven't a pot to piss in. <coat>

The whole PIF left the table talk is nonsense, it was pretty much confirmed after they said that, that they were still working in the background, the whole Mike Ashley legal challenge has come off the back of secondary discussions with the Premier League where they have been accused of carrying on the same delaying tactics, the group were allegedly told they would pass it by x date when that date came and there again was no decision, thats when Ashley released the statement about legal options. So PIF have pretty much never actually been away from the table.

And in fairness, this statement is on the back of(/in response to) a leak from the premier league, not from Ashley/the club.

Interesting that this is all coming back up a month away from the Winter Transfer Window opening up
Did it ever stop being talked about? I feel like every week there was a new little story about a law firm being hired, a letter being sent, someone speaking off the record, etc. Plus, every transfer period fans claim Ashley leaks new stories to appease fans...I haven't felt like Ashley's even cared about appeasing fans in nearly a decade.

Oh great, now we can look forward to 47 fan blogs talking up the importance of confidentiality, just as for months they've ranted about how the values of transparency need to be upheld. Both are important, and obviously the league need to follow their own rules and legal protocol, but I do keep getting a kick out of how self-righteous some fans can be when really what they care about is having a rich, powerful royal owning the club. Which again, is reasonable under the circumstances, just be honest that it's all anyone (including Ashley) cares about.
<ergh>

Just like "KEEP POLITICS OUT OF FOOTBALL, DON'T MEDDLE IN OUR TAKEOVER" until they scrapped the deal and it suddenly became "GET f***ing BORIS LOOKING INTO THIS! WE WANT A PUBLIC INQUIRY!"

So if the club wins the case then Ashley gets paid millions presumably? That’s the only outcome as the Saudis have left the table.
Reports saying they're coming back in...

This can only help the clubs case to be fair, its adds further evidence that the EPL haven't acted according to their own guidelines and further supports the accusations of them leaking confidential information.

Newcastle United has issued the following club statement on Thursday 19 November 2020:

“The Club has previously not commented on the arbitration it is pursuing against the Premier League (‘EPL’) with respect to its conduct relating to the proposed takeover because of the confidentiality clause in the EPL's rules.

"However, the Club is aware of public reports which state that, on 17 November, the EPL referred to legal proceedings with the Club (e.g. social media posts referring to the “Club’s own legal case”) in a letter to Newcastle supporters.

"The source of some of the reporting is said to be the EPL. It appears, therefore, that the EPL has leaked the contents of their letter to some of those commenting in the public domain.

"The Club understands that these will be matters of great concern to its fans and therefore considers that, in light of the information disclosed by the EPL, it has no choice but to respond and update its fans in response to this coverage.

"The Club makes no comment on the substance of the arbitration, but it can confirm that it has issued arbitration proceedings against the EPL.

"It is unclear when those proceedings will be resolved, given the approach of the EPL and its lawyers, Bird & Bird. Nevertheless, the Club will continue to use its best efforts to press for a fair, full and timely hearing of its claim.”
Two middle fingers from the EPL.
