Ake is fine, a bit like Mings I think. A good defender but not amazing and certainly not good enough for a team realistically aiming to win the league or CL.

He'll be an alright squad player for them as the new guy will partner Laporte.

I don't particularly rate Lascelles, I just can't see Ake at anything close to his valuation.

It's strange how people scoffed at the idea of Lascelles going for £50m but seemed perfectly happy to justify Ake's cost. "Home grown English premium" etc.

Well, he's backup now anyway with the new fella coming in.
Lascelles looks terrified whenever the ball is near him.

City are all over the place defensively.
Nothing new there - Laporte still to get back to fitness but Ake was never the answer to their defensive problems.
I thought it pretty odd his value didn't decrease after last season's dreadful performance. For whatever reason I watched a lot of Bournemouth last season - and despite his good presence on the pitch (something pundits talk up about CBs), he looked a shell of the player he was the previous season. Paying that much for the CB of a relegated team that went down because of their defense makes no sense.

Man C should just sign Vardy <laugh>

Poor Pep though, all those injuries. If only he’d had more money to spend.

There's a good chance we'll be bottom of the league come Monday evening. <wah>
What are you smoking?! No way will all the teams below us win <laugh>
Are you sure, definitely bottom 3 again!

Must stop drinking the £3 a bottle red wine! <cheers>

Chelsea are beating themselves here, such sloppy goals conceded and 3 good chances missed themselves.
