Ideally villa would have went down and we signed McGinn <laugh>

<neg>
He'd have gone to a better club <laugh> Probably Everton, as if villa went down then possibly Watford would've stayed up and they wouldn't have got Doucoure at that price.

If Bournemouth stayed up instead of villa we wouldn't have got Wilson, so silver lining haha

I don’t think there’s any doubt that their business was better than ours tbh. Long season but promising early signs for them, sadly!
Yeah. Talking about Villa.. I wish the John McGin links were true back in Jan when we were interested in him, he'll be the perfect midfield box-to-box midfielder to compliment Hayden.. he can pass, defend, attack & is technically adept. A good all-rounder. Would have preferred him over Hendrick.. but can't complain Hendrick has done a reasonable job so far for us looks solid, hard-working & dependable, would like to see him partner Hayden in the middle instead of Jonjo. <scratch>

Aston Villa are looking really good this season. I guess they won't be too bothered about missing out on Wilson now <laugh>
Maybe. It’s still too early to determine how good each side will be. Amazing result against Liverpool but it was a weird game (4? deflected goals) and they’ve played the bottom two sides in the league.

Watkins look like a solid alternative to Wilson, but I think keeping hold of Grealish and signing Barkley will prove to be their best piece of business <ok>
This. Added to that they have a solid midfield of John McGin (box-to-box) & David Luiz (Defensive/Holding MID) with Barkley providing atheism, power & energy in attacking mid, Grealish with his magic dribbling & creativity.. Watkins adds the final touch with his movement & clinical finishing. In defence.. Mings is developing into a decent, solid central defender along wish Konsa. Matty Cash & Targett not world beaters but solid enough attacking full-backs. Oh yeah.. forgot about Trezeguet who's a tricky & quick winger with a eye for a goal.. they bought Bertrand Traore from Lyon who's a good athletic & pacey option out wide or through the middle. You could even say Villa did as good or better business than us.. Ohh yeahh they bought Martinez from Arsenal who's potentially going to be a top, top keeper' so Villa do look impressive this season. Good luck to them. <ok> <gent>

They could be this season's version of Sheffield United. <whistle> Yesss.. put a cheeky bet on them ending in the top 10/8. <awe>

Villa might shock a lot of people this season.. may comfortably end in mid-table & potentially break into the top 10(ambitious but you never know) if they continue this form. I don't see them in no relegation trouble at all.

They still looked good against those sides and played good football. They were lucky with most of their goals against Liverpool but they were still going at them and creating chances. If it was us for example, we would never get 4 deflections because we wouldn't be taking 4 shots at home to Liverpool <laugh>.

If they're testing regularly (which they are) including before they join up it should be fine, or at least barely more risky than how they currently are. Compare that to most other workplaces and they're in quite a privileged position. They aren't the only workers still travelling overseas.
Regular testing yes, but it's placing people in direct close contact with another large group of people therefore more likely exposure to Covid and increasing the chances of more cases.
But that other large group of people are also being regularly tested (though I do worry about some of the minnows, are UEFA paying for tests for the likes of Gibraltar). I agree it's not watertight, but it's a damn sight safer than many workplaces, even more so when you consider the age and fitness levels of the individuals involved.

They'll all feel 20 years younger though so it's fine

A third Liverpool player (Shaqiri) has now tested positive for Covid.

This international break is ridiculous. They're in their PL bubbles, but now jetting off around the world to join up with entirely new people in their international teams. How many positive cases will there be in a couple of weeks?
