Leeds of course fully deserved the win this evening but what genuinely surprised me was Newcastle's lacklustre performance. You have some very good players and magnificient support though so its surely only a matter of time before you turn things around.

Everything considered 13th in the table after 13 matches is pretty good for my team due to this being our 1st season back in the top division. NUFC are clearly underperforming at the moment but things will turn around for you guys i'm sure because as previously mentioned you really do have some quality players.
Being around 13th - 14th is all we can hope for (again) under Ashley and Bruce. Football is a funny old business, you played us off the park and deserved to win by 3 goals (if not more) as yet again regardless of whether we play Palace, WBA, Leeds or Man C we just let the opposition control the ball and dictate play, but we're both on the same points (and we have a game in hand) with one lauded by the media and one often ridiculed. I guess that although our football is dire to watch there is more than one way to skin a cat in the PL.

It was only a matter of time until someone battered us, I'm expecting some heavy defeats over Xmas against City, Leicester and Liverpool.

Both Leeds and Newcastle will stay up this season and probably finish around where we are now in the league. We won't score enough to threaten the top half, and Leeds concede too many to have realistic aspirations of challenging for the top half. If you can sort your defence you'd be looking at top 8.

I do enjoy watching Leeds as you just go for it. You win some games, you lose heavily some games, but you're generally in the game and giving the opposition problems and going at them. That's all any fan can ask for, especially at clubs around our level as I'd say we're both very similar in terms of size, stature and where we'll be finishing in the league.
Excellent post! Very well said. <applause>

You absolutely battered us and fully deserved the win. If anything the scoreline flattered us. On balance of play it would not have flattered you if you had notched up 6 or 7 and our two were both scored against the balance of play.

Great to see your club back in the top division. Have to say that watching you play the last few seasons has almost single handedly kept me interested in football. Your approach to the game under Bielsa is how it should be played, entertainment first and foremost and the complete opposite of the s**** we churn out every game. So when not playing you i'll be cheering you on, so good luck for the season!

Was it here or somewhere else I saw that we haven't had over 50% possession in any league game this season. West Brom at home was our best, 48% or something.

That was f***ing awful, but we looked absolutely knackered to be fair.
Thank god we're not playing Saturday, Tuesday, Saturday, Wednesday, Sunday then!

Personally would look at that FA Cup side on the 9th and make 11 changes if we can. Give the guys a full week off.

We have more goals in the last 15 minutes of games than anyone(although after last night it wouldn't surprise me if Leeds have overtaken us). I feel like we're getting results in spite of Bruce. We have good players, our goalkeeper is making a lot of saves and we are hanging in games in terms of results. Then we're snatching goals right at the end through individual players.

Bruce wasn't lying or deluded when he said we were in the game until the last 10-15 last night, our whole game plan is to keep the score level/within reach then hope we get lucky at the end. I'd call it Sunday League management but I don't want to offend my Sunday League manager.
Yes I agree. And the point that Darlow is having to make so many saves (a ridiculous amount) shows that Bruce's tactics/plan to contain the opposition doesn't work at all. Teams regularly get through and we're repeatedly bailed out by our keeper but law of averages lots will get past him. So yeah, I do agree that we have some good players who are getting us results or bailing us out in spite of Bruce's input.

To be fair to Leeds they were the better team with the better MANAGAER and better TACTICS. Not better players though.. Not alot of them would get into our strongest XI on paper but as a team they work really well. I said it before they were either going to smash us or lose 2-3 but they had too much energy, pressure & fitness we us we crumpled at the end and 2 of them were from counter attacking corners.. but those last three headers were all cracking goals and that Harrison strike was brilliant. Have to look onwards and upwards though.. 6-7 points would have been the target from the West Brom, Leeds & Fulham games. Just have to make amends on Saturday. Our MOTM has to be Clark. Was superb despite letting in 5 goals.. he carried the ball when from the back and was generally solid. Darlow too kept us in it with some cracking saves. Fraser too looked dangerous at times with his pace and crossing... should start on Sat. Longstaff, Joelinton had poor games. Wilson had a woeful game probably his worst game for us so far but I'll let him of as without his goals we'll be near the bottom. Murphy struggled at RB but when Kraft came on looked dangerous further up and he's so direct/pacey rather start him than Hendrick. Get Jetro in asap for Lewis not good enough.. or start Ritchie as he's more solid.

Very fun, enjoyable and entertaining game to watch. Just a shame we were on the receiving end. <urgh>

When is St.Maxim back? Him on the right-hand side of midfield and Fraser on the other will be great to watch. <diva>
That was a winnable game and we f***ing bottled it as per . I’m not buying into this media bollocks either. We’ve been very poor all season and most of last season. We have absolutely fluked results this season but a spanking like this has been on the cards for a while. We continuously surrender possession regardless of the opposition with the hope of keeping it 0-0 and nicking a goal late In the second half.
It’s worked a few times but it’s mainly down to the opposition being wasteful - not us being a strong defensive unit with silky counter attacking football.

It was only a matter of time before it backfired. I could quite easily see us go on a bad run and potato face wouldn’t have a clue how to stop it . We will continue playing like this week in week out until the useless cronut fucks off.

He tries to be mr Nice and pally with his chums in the media but you need a ruthless streak in football , and unfortunately this clown doesn’t have it and never will.
His persona comes across weekly in our meek and mild performances.
Spot on.

Got a ham sandwich in charge of us though <neg>

Good luck for the rest of the season, used to love our duels when we were both challenging .

Classic Bruce
“ We were fine until the last ten to fifteen minutes and then we gave away poor goals. We got caught on the edge of our box, gave away possession. The goals are not acceptable.
Until the 75th minute we were in it. Then we gave goals away.
I'm not going to make excuses (about fatigue). We were poor.”

Yeah true, those are fair points. I do want Bruce to go but it anti happening anytime soon unfortunately unless we get relegated or go on a really horrible run. I would love someone like Bielsa who works with what he has and turned a average Championship mid-table Leeds side into Premier League quality without real financial backing. You could tell today the difference in quality.. Biesla a expansive continental attacking possession based manager with a fantastic philosophy and original methods. Bruce a old-fashioned British clogger with conservative, negative and defensive way of playing. As much as it was a winnable game it was a game we could lose. Leeds just looked the fitter, stronger, faster, better drilled & energetic unit. They overrun us. Can't have too many complains when we have a limited manager.. the way we set-up 4-4-2 just wasn't it.. a 3-4-3 or 4-3-3 would have been better so we could've controlled the midfield better.
