The daft thing is that pundits have always pushed this narrative that our fans would rather play entertaining football and lose than play s*** and win or draw. We play s*** and lose. Anything is better than that.

And frankly, it's not even like we're asking to be the most entertaining side in the league, average would do. But instead we've been among the most drab and unthreatening sides for most of the past decade. And if you're going to be boring to watch, you'd at least better be effective, and obviously that hasn't been the case either.

Not hard to believe, what did she say?
Can't remember word for word but pretty much shut down the whole other pundits who claimed OH Why do Newcastle think they should be winning the PL etc. and said the only thing Newcastle fans are asking for is a team that goes out and tries to actually play football gets at the opposition and gives them some form of entertainment not the drose we're being subjected to at the moment 9 times out of 10.

She pointed back to the Entertainers era of look they didn't win things but it wasn't for lack of trying.

Which I thing majority would agree with.
<applause> <applause> <applause> That's all we ask as fans. Even in the great Sir Bobby Robson days we were attacking, fun and entertaining to watch with Robert, Bellamy, Dyer, Solano & Big Al

.. they not only worked hard but had the talent and quality. I miss those days.. even the glorious 2011/2012 season with Cisse, Ba, Ben Arfa, Tiote, Cabaye & Coloccini was terrific to watch. <urgh>

Catching up with the MOTD coverage last night, Alex Scott talked more sense in 2 minutes then all the other pundits have in the last 2 months.

I didn't see MOTD, but I agree that she's a very good pundit.

Everton will tear us to shreds. We were the better team in the second half but such was the first half performance let's not get carried away with it all just because for 30 mins or so we looked ok. Leeds are very average imo.
Yeah, agreed. I really can't see us getting anything at all from Everton now that they have Digne, James and DCL back who all missed the defeat at SJP earlier this season I think (as did Richarlison). Would be surprised if we don't lose by 2 or 3 goals.

Second half was a vast improvement. Shame we’ll go to Everton next and revert to treating the ball like it’s a hand grenade.

For me, the fact the players can actually play this well underlines just how bad a job Bruce has been doing recently
It's a good squad with the exception of central midfield and possibly left back (a good manager might get more from Lewis), we've had years of managers not getting enough out of them and an easy excuse of "not getting backed by the owner". Christ, imagine if we'd spent £40m of Joelinton money on a centre mid.

Let's play Schar in midfield and Hayden in defence. That sounds like the way forward.
Let's put Hayden on the bench until the once every 2 months we need to defend a lead.

With Santon.

Keep Schar in defense, it's only the fact that Shelvey plays midfield without crossing the halfway line that forces Schar to make those runs, and he can do it from the back anyway.

We've missed St Maxi. First time this year I've felt positive watching us.
He's certainly made a difference.

Looked accidental to me. Why are PL footballers such prima donnas?
