In pure footballing terms I think they are worse for the league, yes there is rightful criticism of KSA for all their issues. But strictly in a footballing sense it feels like American ownership is the driving force behind the awful direction the game is going.
I guess it’s easy to draw parallels to North American sports league but I think it was more to do with cost of pandemic and the established clubs’ wanting to protect their incomes by removing any sort of competition.
And I'd add, the driving forces being it, like Real Madrid, aren't American owned. I think they'd have been happy to pocket the offered revenues of course. And there are plenty of reasons to criticize American ownership. But I'd be wary of placing the ESL on that doorstep.

They were bought by 3-4 of the biggest individual capitalists in the world. We all know what these people want, and that is profit.
Don't understand the party on Chelsea's supporter side because of this. Abramhovich was such a golden age for Chelsea, now it will slowly turn in the future, bet your f*cking money it
Can I do a leveraged bet with Chelsea's money instead?

Not sure we’re best placed to criticise other clubs’ owners.

More Americans 🙄, this is why the league got into the s***ty ESL bollocks in the first place, it's just another secure vote for the next power grab by the greedy six. Imo all these American owners are more dangerous to the PL brand than KSA is imo.

Terms of sale have apparently been agreed with a consortium led by LA Dodgers owner Todd Boehly, subject to passing the Premier League's owners' and directors' test which won't take long as the sale has to be completed by the end of the month.

So Chelsea can see tickets for cup games and away games, but on condition that the money made goes to the premier league! The PL is as money grabbing as the players these days. Why not give the money to charity?
Let's be honest, sports club owners and leagues have always been more money grabbing than even the players <laugh>
But in all seriousness, agreed. I'd love to hear their excuse for where the revenue will allegedly go.

I would love it if they crashed. So many years since Tore André Flo, Gianfranco Zola and Gianluca Vialli and it was a enjoyable team.
To be clear, this is financially and not the team bus?
Well... It would horrible with airplane but a small bump on the road to France I don't mind <whistle>

The Premier League has disqualified Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as a director of the club after the oligarch was sanctioned by the UK government.

Apparently last night Barclays froze the Chelsea accounts that they were supposed to run the "footballing side" with, Some journos ran stories that staff couldn't even buy the petrol for the team bus.

They think it will be lifted though as it's only because Barclays want further clarification and protection form potentially breaching the sanctions.

Will probably get sorted quickly but any disruption before Sunday has to play into our hands.
