Found out that a guy from my tutor group at school passed away at the weekend, only 39/40.
Randomly it did cross my mind the other day about when will the time come when people that you were mates with at school start dying (not sure why i was thinking that), but wasn't expecting anyone to die so young. Not sure what the circumstances were, hadn't spoke to or heard from him since we were 18. He was a big lad back in school, excellent rugby player!
A former work colleague of mine passed away from cancer back end of last year, was only 31,We had tried to get out for one last pint with him but he had gone from being up and about to gone within 5 days, happened so quickly, docs had given him 6 months, then few days later turned to weeks, a day later that turned into only days, by end of the following night it became his final hours.
Can't help but bring into focus your own mortality. He was in high spirits and funny as f*** till the end, I can only hope I can be the same when it's my time.
