Both club's fans contain morons. The handful of Mackems I know are relieved more than anything. Anything other than a convincing victory would have been horrific for them.

They will 100% try and spin this in such a way that we were playing a strong team against their subs. If any one of these players makes a first team performance in the next three years then they will be over the moon <laugh>.

They’ll claim they taught us a lesson now...

The U23s have done great to get this far and beat one or two football league sides along the way. Sunderland were rightly strong favourites, if it was the other way round I’d be embarrassed if our first team was facing their U23s.
