Re: Pavel's eBar
Just spent the entire afternoon changing the breaks pads and rotors out on my wife's car, they were metal stubs where my wife had driven them down to nothing. I changed the break fluid as well but the break peddle feels weird, like it has 3inches of playnbeforebthe breaks engage. I'm thinking maybe...

Re: Newcastle United is officially for sale, Ashley wants deal by Christmas
Does everyone believe Ashley intends to sell the club? Seems like a perfect excuse for him to not spend money in the transfer window. From what I hear Benitez wasn't too happy with the lack of financial backing he received over the summer. Having the club "for sale" would be the perfect way for Ashl...

Re: Computer Workshop
I'm trying to learn to build web apps using PHP - which I know ToonForum uses so I'm hoping Cal and skalpel can help. I've been reading about the coding side of it and it doesn't seem too difficult, I just have no idea how to install it on my laptop so I can practice using it. I found this guide fo...

Re: Try, try, and try again ...
My concentration is pretty much non-existent in manuals and automatics. Driving doesn't really require much thought though. It's noticeable how much worse drivers are in countries which predominately use automatics, everyone should take their test in a manual.

My car decided to start pissing coolant out today. <fist> Luckily its covered by warranty but she's had to go in to the garage for 24hrs. Getting a courtesy car tomorrow - not sure what yet but I can guarantee it will be the fastest car in the world <run> This the Golf R? I've had my bank card clon...

It should also be said that the only guy who was likely to do a lot of overtaking was the only guy who didn't take to the starting grid.

Re: The F1 Thread
Vettel homed in on the back of Hamilton's car really rapidly before Hamilton dived in the pits. If Hamilton hadn't pitted when he did Vettel probably would've been making an attempt ten seconds later. The dirty air "conundrum" is blown out of proportion and has been for years. If overtaking was easy...

Re: Try, try, and try again ...
Really? I think if you're passing on your 33rd attempt then there's a chance you've got lucky and can't drive at that level on a consistent basis. Maybe they should just be monitored for the first year or something or they should have to do another course after they pass. But surely you could also ...

Re: The F1 Thread
Decent session. Pleasantly surprised by Bottas keeping Hamilton honest, wasn't expecting him to better Hamilton's first time in Q3, so often Rosberg would be slower on both runs and Hamilton wouldn't need to finish his final lap. Great to see Vettel so close too, could be some great racing if Ferrar...

Re: Try, try, and try again ...
I agree, if you can't pass by say your fifth attempt maximum then you're clearly not cut out for driving. Two ways of looking at it; first is that they kept improving their driving until they were at a high enough standard to pass, the other is that they're only safe and capable one in five times t...

Re: Books
Just finished Revolutionary Road by Richard Yates. Absolutely loved it. Miserable and brutal as hell exposure of narcissism, provincial torpor and wasted chances, all the while managing to have a dry smirk at everything going horribly wrong. Reads ridiculously easy, I recommend it to anybody whose ...

How big of a chunk? And how'd you manage that? Not massive, about pea-sized but its the very front tip. My wife accidentally elbowed me in the face <laugh>. Something flew to the back of my mouth and I reflex-swallowed then realised there was loads of blood falling out. It's still swollen outwards ...
