Last game of relegation season - Tottenham
That's the first that came to mind for me too. I'm sure there had to be one with more drama and suspense, but after a diabolical season, it was nice to have that final day surprise.

Just in case anybody needs cheering up at the moment this will keep you entertained on April fools day:- https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52012467 <laugh> "What good looks like" might have become one of the most overused line of business management speak in the past few years - and that's sayin...

Re: Scumbag Mike at it Again

Hardly a thing that was unique to SD, not to suggest they weren't equally guilty though. Adidas took the same heat in North America, as well as a host of other businesses. Doesn't help that UK and American governments were so wishy-washy on direction to the public and businesses - well and in the ca...

Re: Football: cancelled

Nolan and Barton really were great for us If Barton had knocked off the nonsense he could have achieved so much more, he had loads of talent Considering we were down 4-0 at the time, it's pretty shocking the discipline he showed in the moment (other than maybe the tackle in the first place that cou...

Re: Football: cancelled

Shola always seemed to assist meaningful goals. He can't have had too may assists for us but he set up Shearer vs Portsmouth and Shearer vs Everton. Play long enough and you'll run into a few positive contributions. I'm kidding, partially. I'll always believe his play didn't justify how long he was...

Get among the marble racing. <awe>
I knew nothing of this, but in the past couple weeks have seen people posting about it on all of the sports forums I follow - even before the lockdown.

Glad to see Chelsea get that win. Liverpool with a rough week, but at least Chelsea have shown to be really inconsistent this season. Would definitely rather play them (though hopefully won't have to).

I would have stuck Yedlin on for Miggy. And what the **** has happened to Gayle? Looks slow as s***.
Every time he plays this season it seems like he goes 10 minutes at a time between touches. A complete phantom.

Re: Match thread - WBA v NUFC (Fa cup)

I actually think we might get to the semis at least Have you seen who's still in? Best chance we have (barring some upsets this round) is the winner of Reading v Sheff Utd at home and even then I'd be worried. All things considered, that's a pretty good best case for this late in a cup. Besides, as...

Re: The Big Injury Thread

If ASM goes because of Bruce I’ll be livid. Sick of Bruce and his negative tactics and cluelessness when we are being out played. All in all, the bloke is a dinosaur and Villa fans warned of his ineptness. I don't disagree generally, but if this story is true I'd be very surprised if it's not just ...

Re: Match thread - WBA v NUFC (Fa cup)

I know it's against a Championship side but that is great football. That's all I ask for. It's okay to play one way against the best sides, and actually, we do well under those circumstances. But they need to know how to change their game against equal or lesser sides - which admittedly is probably...

Re: Match thread - Palace v NUFC

One thing that game taught me is how poor we are at ref management and buying fouls. Ayew literally won a foul when he lost the ball simply by lightly bumping into the tackler and screaming like he'd been elbowed. The foul for their goal was soft, with barely any contact and the contact coming as t...

Bit revisionist that. Hewfball and tactical ineptness. Not scoring from a set piece in about 3 years. We ended 5th with Pardew. As much as we all know he isn't and won't ever be a very good/great manager he got us into the top 5 and nearly the Champions League. Long live king Pardiola. https://www....

Re: Man C banned from European Competition for 2 years

That's all well and good, but football is still the only big pro sport on earth where all of the teams are losing money hand over fist. For all the talk about how revenues are booming, owners have foolishly let their own spending get out of control. So as much as FFP in its current incarnations can ...

To add a post to the forum today... It's also good to see a player who genuinely seems happy to be playing for us rather than just here for a payday. Pickford England's number 1......
A lot of depth at keeper in England for ages now, but they keep selecting the ones full of gaffes. I refuse to believe Pickford is actually the best English keeper.
