Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2021)
Who even makes our recruitment and scouting decisions these days? Like Charnley has to sign cheques, but who is in charge of identifying targets?

Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions
I think the top five names would be unrealistic appointments. I wouldn't want Lucian Favre, he's similar to Bruce in that he's a defensive manager that doesn't know what to do with the attacking talent available to him. Just obviously at s higher level. Marco Silva is one I hadn't thought of, but n...

Re: Match Thread: Arsenal v Newcastle (Easy 3 points)
It's not even a nice plaque. I've never looked at it closely until now. It's like the font the designer used wasn't available on the printing machine so it just spat it out in the default font. The betting shop coupon / sudoku background is awful too. Horrible plaque. Horrible fonts. As unofficial ...

Bruce: 'Turn up, have a bit of pride in your performance, pass the ball to each other, take part in the game. Forget about tactics or analysts, you need that too, but you have to do the basics as well.' The guy is a s**** PE teacher at best. Does that make him more or less likely than my high schoo...

Billy Davies has been without a club since he left Forest a few years back, no doubt he features on Charnley's shortlist of possible Bruce replacements.

Re: Steve Bruce: The Gloves are off
I found it odd the guardian were saying the defenders wanted to keep five at the back this year and Bruce humoured them. Why would he do this? I don't think it's a coincidence all of the veterans and longstanding members of the team are defenders, who were signed under Rafa, and want to stay in the...

Re: FOOTBALL FOR THE WEEK AHEAD
Another big match fails to deliver, a common occurrence in the PL . Good result for City. Always happens, don't know why I bother watching the 'big' games now. Always so much hype and build up, commentators try and give it a big match feel, and ultimately both sides show up not to lose and neutral ...

Re: Could it happen? Next manager suggestions
I know it's all relative, and I experienced it first hand when living in England, but I still always find it hilarious how one region of England is perceived as so far from another - especially when talking about where a football manager or player would be willing to live. The farthest clubs from on...

Re: Steve Bruce: The Gloves are off
I do think the players have been lucky lately that he's justifiably drawn the ire of everyone. Because he's not wrong, they've been s**** too. He unlike Rafa, as we've discussed, doesn't have a strict structure or tactics, so for all we criticise him for not inspiring expansive play, it isn't as if ...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle
Agree with what Colly's saying, not sure I agree with you though RC - we conceded a lot of possession under Rafa, but we were organised enough and structured enough that, in a lot of games, it never felt like we were conceding a lot of chances. The opposition would just be passing the ball around i...

Re: Steve Bruce: The Gloves are off
He's lost the plot completely. Who's way has he been doing it for the past 18 month? Has he just been letting the players do what they want? Does he not pick the team? Does he not come up, with the shape, structure, tactical approach, game plan etc? Does he not lead training? What the **** has he a...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle
I didn't have much hope in him anyway, but when I saw that team selection and shutting up shop against the worst team in the league that was it for me. Under Bruce we've hardly won any games at all playing 5 at the back and he keeps doing it regardless of opposition. Where's Lewis? Where's Manquill...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle
He has got zero idea about football. The man has blagged a managerial career just because he could play at a high level. It definitely seems that way now, but I don't think he blagged anything. He did good work at Wigan way back when. Was alright at Sunderland really, arguably had them punching at ...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle
It's all what ifs isn't it. How at risk do we think Cabbage is? I'm going to say 'not very'. We kept Pardew far longer than we should have, can't see them booting Bruce out any time soon. To be fair, Pardew actually had that one really good year to hang his hat on, while Bruce doesn't have the same...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle
I'd say that under Bruce, we're in the mix of three worst teams but if Bruce were to be fired and we played on the front foot then we'd be mid table. We have good enough players to give teams a game and give ourselves a chance to win but under Bruce - we're set up to maybe nick a draw. I fully agre...

Worse than McClaren, worse than Pardew, worse than Carver. There’s only one final line to cross: Kinnear. McClaren and Carver were equally bad. But that's like saying I'm willing to give up my left leg as much as my right. Edit: And just be glad you didn't have to choke down 40 matches of Carver in...

Re: Match Thread: Sheffield Utd v Newcastle
What bothers me most is my complete apathy. I can't even muster the enthusiasm to get angry anymore. I am so close to not giving a s*** about this club. I'm just pissed off that Sharp is still on the pitch. Disgusting challenge and they don't even check it. Corrupt as ****. Not corrupt, as I don't ...
