Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

Would you not say he lacks versatility in his tactics? 100% but I don’t think a lack of versatility is outdated. I mean Man City aren’t exactly versatile in style but they’re supreme - as goes for pretty much ever Pep team tbh. Same could be said for Liverpool, Chelsea of a few years ago (as a more...

Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

It's worrying that we seemingly put up a fight against some of the bigger teams, but against lesser sides we look disinterested and out of ideas and talent. Rafa clearly knows he's walking in summer, and I'm sure a fair few of the players aren't particularly bothered. We've all had jobs where we tu...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 21/23 SEPTEMBER 2018

And who's fault is that? Rafas not blameless. Didn't say he was blameless, but whats done is done Mitro is now a Fulham player and could go on and score 50 goals this season it doesn't make a blind bit of difference to us. Could say the same about all of the players we don't buy or other such subje...

Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

I'd like to see Muto given a proper run-out. It isn't as if any of the other forwards have earned their guaranteed places in the lineup every week. Actually yeah this. Rafa just seems rather stubborn. Continuing to try the same things but expecting different results. Perez and Joselu offer so littl...

Perez has been s***. Would like to see him subbed for Muto.

Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

Can you imagine any other club/manager persisting with the pairing of Joselu and Perez as long as Benitez has? It's utterly baffling.

Who are you, an undercover City supporter? <mob> <laugh> I wondered the same thing and stumbled over a Manchester Evening News story yesterday as it happens Investigative journalism! I like your commitment! Unrelated, but watching the Marseille vs. Frankfurt Europa League match highlights, and it's...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

When this happens is it because they have a lot of fans that travel into the city for home matches that can't do it on a weeknight? Are the tickets even more expensive than usual? What's the deal? Two things, (incorrect) expectation that group games will be dull and predictable City fans have runni...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

I see Man C had 10,000 empty seats last night. Can you imagine if we ever got back into the CL, every game would be a sell-out. Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

Wonder if he's accepted a bribe, sounds difficult to be that bad unintentionally! Problem was that his bad decisions went against both teams. Even as a Valencia fan I was annoyed by the Ronaldo decision. He just lost control and without knowing what he was actually thinking, it felt as though he wa...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

Referee of the Valencia vs Juve had a complete mare. Maybe the worst ref performance I've seen in years. Got the red card decision completely wrong, and 2 out of 3 PKs. When he gave yellows felt pretty random and inconsistent too.

Re: Is there ANYTHING positive about NUFC ?

Yeah the idea we only see it as a negative because of the missed pen is madness, we were absolutely awful that game and deserved absolutely nothing from it. To be fair, they really didn't create much against us either. It looked like the kind of match that could have gone all day with neither team ...

I don't think he's channeling money elsewhere, just using the club as a means to avoid spending advertising money elsewhere.

Re: Bullying in Sport

A good read, and well put. It's obvious his drama is always selfish, and never for the good of the team, or now the players playing under him. There's a big difference between being disciplined and exacting in preparation, and just being an asshole stirring up s*** for his own pleasure.

Re: Watford valued same as Newcastle!

Newcastle has always received more coverage internationally - I know from experience because it's been easy to watch every match in Canada for the past decade. As for your quip about red, an array of ownership groups have had to learn the hard way that you can't pick some random club out of the Cha...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

Is there a story behind it to suggest racism? Not as far as I know. It immediately followed some really physical play, including a flailing elbow - I'd thought Costa had been lucky to only see yellow after headbutting him, but he made sure to get the job done and get sent off. Seemed the spit was j...

Re: Watford valued same as Newcastle!

Agreed. That's what I thought when this Staveley group were quibbling over relegation clauses etc. As we have seen, a strong home fanbase is financially worthless - just change your club to playing in red and watch the money roll in from the far east. The billion dollar difference comes from a club...

Lascelles may be out...injured in warm-up. Nothing confirmed if he'll still start.
The footage of it looks grim. He was walking off the pitch pretty hobbled

Re: Match day - NUFC v Arsenal

Don't know where goals are going to come from. We always look completely hapless without Shelvey in the side, then add Joselu...ugh. I dream of a day where we have a few options in the centre of the park who can actually pass a ball or open things up.
