Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

We have CM depth for the first time in years and years, so with Diame and Hayden both likely gone, I really don't want to lose Shelvey too.

Re: The VAR again!!!

Real late to this (just got back from vacation in New Zealand), but I think it's a bit tough that every questionable VAR decision gets stories written about it, while plenty of good VAR decisions that correct mistakes get taken for granted. As others have said, there will always been calls that are...

Re: Schaer injured

There should be an independent doctor at each game aswell in my opinion, who has the final say on whether a player comes off or not in the event of a head injury. Decisions surrounding head injuries should not be left up to a manager who has no medical expertise and can only see the benefit of the ...

Half arsed https://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/the-game-dissected-how-ayoze-perez-is-spearheading-newcastles-survival-bid-w28gq336q Everybody should read this article. I have had mixed feelings on Pérez, he’s persuaded me recently, and this article quantifies why. Yes he has some limitations, ...

Huddersfield are one of the worst sides in PL history yet everyone seems keen to take their players <scratch>
I'd take Billing as a CDM, but I absolutely wouldn't sign a forward from there.

Re: Blackpool boss explains why Elias Sorensen's loan move went wrong

Load of s**** from him. They named 6 subs twice while he was there. Pretty sure that was because of foreign player rules. He's probably just not good enough for men's football in League 1 yet. I think more than anything it shows they haven't managed their squad well with respect to domestic player ...

Re: Schaer injured

This is a good idea, even if they had 3 subs left I think that a 'free sub' for serious head injuries would be a good rule to have. This and also they should be able to do what they do in Rugby. If a player gets a head injury they get subbed off for a head injury assessment by trained medical staff...

https://talksport.com/football/504312/newcastle-takeover-mike-ashley-sell-club-off-market/amp/ The sale is off off It's such an arbitrary thing to say though - nobody met his asking price, so he's stopped trying to sell it. Well, should someone come in and meet his asking price, I'm sure he'd sell ...

Re: Weekend Football 2/1-3/1

That's worse than when we play against them! ..and if I recall correctly Rafa got a right slagging for his tactics in the home game in December 2017. Just checked and we had a massive 22% possession and even had a number ot shots both on and off target as well as a few corners! Having missed most o...

Re: Match day thread - West Ham v Toon

Wish Diame would show that every game. Drove forward strongly every time he got the ball. This. Originally in his Wigan days wasn't he a attacking mid and continued to play that position on occasions at West Ham and Hull? I always thought of him being a Yaya Toure (not the same talent / ability lev...

Re: Ashley and Rafa - Marriage of convenience

The club, as with all other clubs, is constantly on the market. These daft on/off announcements are a waste of time. Yep, nothing has changed. Thirded. Ultimately, if someone gives him a big enough return on his investment he'll sell. Until that time, he won't. It just sounds like he's wanting to p...

Wolves actually rested players yesterday with the afA cup in mind, they’re going for it.
I think they also did that in response to how poorly they played the last time out.

Re: Match day thread - West Ham v Toon

I suppose our run had to come to an end at some point. Pretty uneventful game despite the two goals. We looked much better in the second half. Never a penalty for their second - although I think that's karma for the Burnley game where they should have been awarded a pen for Ritchie's challenge. The...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Alfredo Morelos has come out and pretty much said he'll be leaving Rangers in the summer. Someone I know we've looked at before. Decent goal scoring record his discipline record not so much. He's playing in a proper league and gets sent off every other week so imagine what he'd be like in a soft le...

Re: Weekend Football 22-24 Feb & Midweek 26-27 Feb

I'd be a little wary of reading too much into national team management, especially of a team that is always short on talent and made their name off the back of a fluky and ugly tournament win. I agree, but they had some truly awful results and performances. Fulham showed zero improvement under him,...

Re: Weekend Football 22-24 Feb & Midweek 26-27 Feb

Ranieri really isn’t a good manager now, the Leicester thing was very much a freak (amazing) occurrence. I’ve no idea why Fulham ever appointed him, other than desperation. He was awful as Greece manager. I'd be a little wary of reading too much into national team management, especially of a team t...

Re: Match thread - Toon v Burnley

Very professional performance tonight. We were brilliant first half. Second half we would have drawn or even lost the game not that long ago. Did exceptionally well to maintain our composure and professionalism throughout despite the intentions of Burnley. If I was a Burnley fan I'd be concerned. T...
