Morning suit then. Cheers.

Re: FA cup replay - Blackburn v NUFC

That about sums him up for me too. I give him too much stick because he's basically been entrenched in the role for over 4 years now without anyone being purchased to even challenge him for the spot. He's just not good enough to have earned that much good faith and relied on so heavily. More broadl...

Re: FA cup replay - Blackburn v NUFC

I was just reading about Marseille's poor form, which recently was highlighted by losing in the cup to a 4th tier side. I'd say I feel grateful by comparison, but Valencia and Marseille are the two other European clubs I pay any attention to besides Newcastle. This has been a bad few months of sport...

Re: 16 games left to average 1.25 points* per game (Thanks to Speedo for correcting my Maths)

On paper we can stay up, my worry is that by the time we get to those ‘easy’ games we’ll have a team of players with very little confidence and potentially several points from safety. Cardiff will be key to survival. Games like Burnley and Southampton at home aren’t a given now as both have improve...

Re: FA cup replay - Blackburn v NUFC

He sticks out to me as he seems to be on the end of more missed chances than others in the team. The Jos has missed a similar number of chances and has played about 1/5 as much. Perez is a good squad player IMO, but we obviously need to sign someone for the first team - hence the Almiron links. Tha...

Re: FA cup replay - Blackburn v NUFC

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're winning and they scored. Just sometimes feels any time a manager is unjustifiably loyal to players any small and overdue good play validates the decision to continue playing them more than is deserved.

Re: Weekend Football 5-7 Jan

Not often you see a brace of og's! Burnley manager Sean Dyche conceded good fortune was on Burnley's side after two Fulham own goals in three minutes saw the Clarets claim victory at Turf Moor, without registering a single shot on target. It is the first time since August 2003 that a team has score...

Where’s Kenedy? Surely he’ll be sent back to Chelsea if he can’t even get in the squad tonight.
Somebody posted earlier than he has an injury <scratch>

am I crazy or have both Roberts (besides his goal) and Joselu been kind of absent for the most part?
I imagine not crazy, Joselu tends to always be in the wilderness missing until he pops up to fluff a weak shot off target or give away possession he did nothing to gain in the first place.

What a shock that we don't have the midfield necessary to control play and possession.

Re: FA cup replay - Blackburn v NUFC

Well isn't this a pleasant surprise. Have had a brutal day of two big (awkward) meetings with my director, and separately learning I didn't get a promotion. A small sliver of joy from a cup win would be nice.

I really wish we had some depth at CM. It's ridiculous how few options we've had there for years now.

Re: Rio/Keys Spouting Pure s****

To be fair Rio was being anything but honest and Keys is being utterly absurd. Why are we the only club in the Premier League where our manager needs to have a whip round to buy players with his own money? Ashley is trying to run the club as a business and make his money back (badly by all accounts...

Re: Match day thread: Chelsea v Newcastle (Sat, 5.30pm)

I'm totally ok with sitting back tomorrow and trying to score something on a counter or set piece. Regardless of how we've performed up to now it's freaking away at Chelsea. Even a one-goal loss will suffice. I just hope the performance isn't ghostly and we look like we have a plan, even if we're o...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Transfermarkt actually suggests he's primarily a left back who can also play on the left side of the midfield. Rennes bought him for 7m euros before last season, he made 19 league appearances and then loaned out to Nimes for this season.

Re: Match day thread: Chelsea v Newcastle (Sat, 5.30pm)

Heard a bit of the phone in earlier and someone said "why should we have a go, we'd be back to when we'd turn up with Pardew and get battered". Or draw, then win 2-0 with one of the best goals I've ever seen as some might call it. Granted there were a few losses afterwards but I'd take that over a ...

Re: Sky: Peter Kenyon in talks about taking over NUFC

Dear me, as if Ashley isn't bad enough, his only serious competition is someone having a f***ing whip round. To be fair struggle to get investment to purchase the club does not necessarily impact the post-takeover spending power. As the purchase would clear the debt to Mike Ashley, we could reasona...
