Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Those Canadian moose **** hate being called Americans. But are too polite to complain about it ... if all the cliches are to go by. <laugh> Do you know how big moose are?! That bestiality would be a deathwish. Oh, and we definitely don't consider ourselves Americans. That "but you're North American...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Only speaking for myself, but there's a difference between saying someone is objectively Arabic, and repeatedly referring to them as "The Arabs", especially given the widespread discrimination against that group of people. Also, my original post wasn't to handslap saying it once, but to ask that it...

Re: Rafa Benitez reveals 'positive' talks over his Newcastle United future

Can't see Rafa going to China, seems to want to stay at the top level rather than chase the money (which he probably doesn't need). Even less so than that, I don't think he'd want to move to China. He really seems to want to be near his family, and I don't think a few million would persuade him oth...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Got to admit, there is a lot of pessimism creeping in for me now, I wouldn't be surprised at all if the next bit of news we hear is that BZG have walked away from a deal, I think we have genuine buyers and a genuine seller, but I'm convinced Ashley's greed is what will scupper any deal, I honestly ...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

It's not quite the same . The term Arab is a generic term covering people from a multitude of countries including UAE. Why dont we simply refer to them as the Bin Zayed Group ? What difference does it make , they are Arabs . Only speaking for myself, but there's a difference between saying someone ...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

I suspect they'll want to increase advertising revenues, and at least longer term they'll want better partners than Sports Direct. They will, but I doubt signs coming down will be an indicator of anything, you don't go through an exhaustive takeover bid then complete it and go... right first things...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Someone clarify. Has he or hasnt he put them Sports Direct signs back up? It doesn't really matter, the advertising is a separate entity to ownership, so signs mean nothing, BZG could take over tomorrow and the signs could still be up weeks later, it's not exactly a priority for them in the grand s...

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

My mates a Chelsea fan and he's gutted. He's had so many arguments with other Chelsea fans this season that have moaned about Sarri. Yeah, there were a few supporting him but definitely the minority. It's not as easy to dominate the PL as it was a few years back, and fans of the top 6 are going to ...

You joke, but that's probably not far off the model we sell to players <laugh> Gini paving the way for future superstars. Definitely. Imagine us pretending during negotiations that we had serious aspirations to try and win things <laugh> Imagine players believing us even if we did... <roll>

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

My biggest concern with this is the way Ashley conducts his business, he's enough of a cronut to insist on Sports Directs being still embedded in some way with the club, I honestly believe what we know is only the tip of the iceberg, I fear a takeover will reveal a lot of shady deals that benefits ...

I think we'll fluke a (formerly known as the Carling) Cup in like 8 years' time.

Re: Newcastle 2019-20 Fixtures

I know why the rule is in place, but I'd like to see it trialed to see if it did have a negative effect on attendances of lower league clubs. I think that most people who go to support clubs further down the pyramid would carry on, and they wouldn't choose sitting at home watching Everton v Burnley...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

Hope so. At least it seems like an honest attempt to sell the club this time. I'd say it seems more like an honest attempt to buy the club. But I wouldnt put it past Mike Ashley to put so many conditions in there. I'm a cynic but when it was declared they had agreed a price, I can believe that. Ash...

Re: Ashley Agrees to Sell Newcastle for £350m!

2 days and no posts here. Are we assuming it's dead now? Also, made you look t*** <urgh> Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm remaining hopelessly optimistic. No news doesn't mean it's dead and buried. Although the closer Rafa's contract get's to being gone, the more worried I get. This kind of pro...

I believe she could be a great pundit, but when playing you could always count on her for dumb comments, on-pitch antics, or being a sore loser, like when calling Sweden cowards when beaten by them at the past Olympics (a few examples here https://ftw.usatoday.com/2016/08/hope-solos-comments-about-...

Seconded. Definitely a good joke - but anyone thinking that definitely needed to watch more non-Newcastle football, or possibly, watch Willo more closely.

Re: Women's World Cup France 2019

I'd agree that the level of celebration was over the top if it was a league match. When you play for your country and score then you should celebrate. If they hadn't of celebrated they'd likely be lambasted by Trump and then you'd have all his **** nugget supporters sending threats anyway. His supp...

Definitely. They represent the most famous female (team) athletes in the US, going back to the days of Mia Hamm, with a great collegiate system and a lot of investment. Have had some really unlikable stars (if you're not American, or maybe even if you are) over the past few years though - looking a...

Interesting, because I also read the rumour suggesting that's who Palace want if they do sell Wan Bissaka to Man U. So I wonder if some of those rumours are getting crossed.

Re: Women's World Cup France 2019

The US from what I gather and leaps ahead of everyone else in terms of the women's game, with heavy investment/scholarships common for quite a number of years now whereas nations such as England it has been a relatively recent development. Definitely. They represent the most famous female (team) at...
