Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

My unpersonalized one made it to my door in Canada within like 4 business days...though I should have listened to advice and bought one size up. It'd have been the only XL shirt I own, but it would have fit better than the L does.

Different weekend, same mistakes, same favourites, same s****.
I still feel like we missed a trick not trying to attract some more proven talent in the summer before CL, and instead now we'll be trying to negotiate off the back of an underwhelming season.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

I think this is really harsh, second game on the bounce he's getting no cover. For the goal Silva wasn't his man, he was getting overlapped and still managed to nearly get a block in. It's a bit of both for me. He's a CB out of position and it's telling, but he's being put in a position to fail Tha...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

If Burn isn't getting torched for pace, he's back peddling scared away from the ball to avoid them beating him 1:1. He's basically become an Iron Mike fullback.

Re: Gordon in England Squad

Unlike Southgate to call up a player based on form! Definitely deserves it for how he’s performing with us and how he played for the u21s. Tho Rashford will still play ahead of him when tho he’s been absolutely s*** all season. In minor defense of Rashford, he has seemingly regained form and has 5 ...

We've conceded more away goals than ANY other team in the league this season.
Inexcusable really - especially considering all the health issues we've had, the backline itself hasn't been the worst hit.

Rafa sacked by Celta Vigo after 8 months in charge - seems a bit of a busted flush nowadays.
4 spots lower in the table, with a GD already 3 goals worse than last season too. Without familiarity of their personnel decisions, nobody can suggest he's improved their performance.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Chelsea

Considering how awful our bench has been this season, I'd rather some of the current starters move to back-ups and replace the true cloggers wasting squad spaces with the upgrades. More than anything, I really need to see the decision makers demonstrate they know which positions require upgrades, an...

Why haven’t they ranked it in order of days lost instead?
Thought that myself. Would have made more sense.
The number of players injured (at one time) tends to be more impactful than the duration of any one individual injury - so I'd imagine that's why it's ranked by injuries instead of days.

Credit to Bruno for staying out of the book for 5 matches. Demonstrates he can be disciplined with enough motivation. Hopefully this can teach him a less to be more preventative before running up against a suspension.

Re: Other Clubs Transfers/Rumours/Wishlist

Makes his attempt at getting a big contract even more silly now. Think he potentially damaged a lot of relations within the club and probably made a bad name for himself. That whole saga did change my option of him. Pretty sure the club took care of him through his rehab even after his contract ran...

Re: Other Clubs Transfers/Rumours/Wishlist

I hope he brings more Geordie magic to Toronto than Carver did as manager...supporters here complaining about recent managerial hires must have a short memory if they forget his abominable tenure.

Re: Other Clubs Transfers/Rumours/Wishlist

Matty Longstaff signing for Toronto. Just came to post this too. First impression suggests fans here have tempered expectations, but think it's at least worth a roll of the dice if he can get back after this ACL injury. Has apparently be trialing with TFC - so they'll have a sense of his fitness. H...

For those that spoke about the kit fit and recommending a size up - was it too tight fitting? Or (also) shorter in the body and sleeves? I'm of the tall and skinny type.

I'd never defend doping, but that feels like a pretty wild penalty for a first offence. Not that I'll throw a pity party for Pogba of all players.

So it’s a no change an ht, apart from the usual have some stern words. The old cliche wait till 60 mins if nothing changes then the classic Hail Mary , inject width and more pace 🤣 I used to have a lot of confidence that we'd respond in the second half and show a new approach or level of effort, an...

Was disappointed today's match is on a subscription channel here and not the more common sports network FA cup matches are normally aired on, especially since I'm working from home this afternoon...sounds like I'm not missing anything.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Blackburn Rovers

Hoping that means it's a way to keep his favourites like Burn still getting playing time with the intention to start Tino in the next league match. Of all our issues against Arsenal, I thought he was fine and likely better than Burn could have been expected to do in defending their RW.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Gunners

Trying to attract some of the talent bandied about is part of the reason I think we have to finish this season strongly. For all we can point to overachieving last season, or being such an exciting project, players' careers are short and they have to make decisions about the immediate opportunities ...
