Re: Match day thread - NUFC v Bournemouth

I must be sleep deprived from new baby. I swear I thought I saw us being 2 0 up. Am I hallucinating?

Yeah, I'm forgetting to even check scores or watch highlights. Rarely check the match day thread which used to be a must. What can we get excited about. Under Ashley last season was as good as can be expected. meh

Re: The Cooking/Baking Thread

The wife is now on maternity leave and is baking/cooking loads. Its great, although I'm gonna pile the weight on.

She also bought a dehydrator to make jerky, doubt she ever will!

Re: Football/Sporting Podcast Recommendations

The Football Ramble is quite light hearted and has a few decent episodes. One of the lads on there is a Newcastle fan as well so we get a decent amount of coverage. Yeah I like the Ramble. Their sister show on the continent is good as well, focuses on European football and has input from serious jo...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

Two things, (incorrect) expectation that group games will be dull and predictable City fans have running vedetta against UEFA. Part based on FFP rules aiming at 'punishing the nouveau rich vs established elite' but also on some specifics. In 2011 Mario got racially abused but UEFA fined Porto only ...

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 14/17 SEPTEMBER 2018

I see Man C had 10,000 empty seats last night. Can you imagine if we ever got back into the CL, every game would be a sell-out. When this happens is it because they have a lot of fans that travel into the city for home matches that can't do it on a weeknight? Are the tickets even more expensive tha...

Of course they are.

Our stadium outweighs theirs in valuation

but their squad smashes ours out the park.
21k in the London conurbation > 52k in Newcastle. I mean land prices are on thing. But the ability to get high paying corporate tickets to boxes more so.

Re: WEEKEND FOOTBALL - 31 AUGUST/2 SEPTEMBER 2018

This Cardiff arsenal match is a cracker. Arsenal can't defend crosses, especially from free kicks.

Ozil, when he was playing right midfield reminded me of Ben Arfa in lack of desire to track back

5-4-1 it looks like
4 CBs starting, what odds on the ball not to get out of our half for 90 mins <laugh>

Tbf I've always thought what Ashley is wanting for the club is more than fair. Not sure why everyone kicks off when he says he wants £400m.
Does the 400m include or exclude the debt? Otherwise the enterprise value is like 550m, which is a material difference

Re: EFL cup. Notts Forest v NUFC

We've got Murphy and Atsu on, both playing on the wrong side. And Joselu doing the Shearer thing of having to get on the wing to get the ball. Rafa's trademark attention to detail on show there. I hate inverted wingers. I don't understand why managers love them so much. sure if you have Arjen Robbe...
