Re: Chinese Consortium interested in buying NUFC

So Ashley sells all of his shares in Rangers, seems like he wants to cut all ties with football.

Love how I came on here thinking there'd be a two pager with some good, insightful posts on Carr's time here. Instead, puns! <laugh>

Also, since our home kit is already on sale I guess we don't have a sleeve sponsorship this season.

The original release of this story was intended to attract interested buyers so we're pretty far away from any major development. Not to say things aren't happening in the background though.

Re: Chinese Consortium interested in buying NUFC

Again, this is just one possibility of many and shouldn't be used as a pro for Ashley's ownership. How not? It's quite widely accepted that another year or two under Shepherd would have seen the money run out and the club lumbered with huge debts. The man gave us an interest free loan out of his ow...

Re: Chinese Consortium interested in buying NUFC

From a purely footballing point of view Ashley's tenure has been appalling. Two relegations, constant relegation battles bar one freak 5th placed finish, bizarre appointments. But he has my grudging respect for how we have been ran as a business. Shepherd would have ran us into the ground and witho...

Everton closing in on their Barkley replacement Davy Klaassen. Weird one that, I can't see him going to any of the top 6.

Re: PL 17/18 fixtures

Agreed, we couldn't have had a better set of fixtures if we rigged them ourselves.

Huddersfield and Brighton's last 4 more or less suggests they'll go down if they still need points, especially Huddersfield's.

Re: Chinese Consortium interested in buying NUFC

We were £140m in debt and losing money hand over fist every season. Not that hard to predict what would happen. The debt wasn't just going to disappear and we had no way of paying it back Who's commending him for not doing due diligence? I'm commending him for clearing our debt and saving the s*** ...

Re: Chinese Consortium interested in buying NUFC

I think Ashley deserves a bit more credit than that. If he didn't buy us when he did and clear our debts of £140m we would 100% have done a Leeds. He has obviously made some ridiculous decisions in his time here but he did pretty much save the club Pure speculation, there is simply no way any of us...
