Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley

I said a few times recently that I think we only really need 2 quality signings, a RW and a CDM. But that was taking into account the potential free defensive signings. So that would depend on how the Kelly and Tosin rumours go. Bowen would be the dream signing for me, only hope of signing him is i...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley

Had our injury crisis been a bit less severe and English clubs did as well as they were expected to in Europe we could have almost stolen a 5th place champions league spot this year. If only! Defence aside I’m not really sure where we strengthen next season. I guess a lot hinges on Bruno/Isak this ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley

I'd say we are only 2 first team players short of really having a go at top 4 again and to challenge in europa. I think it's more than possible to improve RW and CDM positions this summer. Then I think next year we look at another forward (looks like Howe wants Wilson to stay next season at the lea...

Poor pen that
Watching MOTD I'd say it's clever goalkeeping. When taking pens, isak waits til the last second for the keeper to commit then puts it the other way. The keeper (I assume having researched this) feints to go one way then dives the other

Oh yeah, first half was a shambles and they should have been out of sight by half time

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Blades

Possibly one of the least deserved 5-1 wins of all time, genuinely fortunate that Sheff Utd are as s*** as they are. Bruno milked the crowd as standard but had a poor game generally, giving the ball away repeatedly and trying to force things that just weren't there instead of having some patience a...

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

Week 5 update. Castore have apologised again and are now "raising an investigation" with their warehouse which may take up to 7 working days. They also manage to blame Hermes, a company that hasn't existed since 2022 despite my order not showing as shipped. I actually don't know why I bothered. jus...

Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

well i remember seeing them. Thinking about it, it will have had to be incorrect offside calls resulting in goals But that just conflates in-game decisions and match outcomes. Incorrecrly awarder/ruled out goals are pretty major in game decisions that affect match outcomes though. It's never going ...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

Man City and Arsenal to both go for Bruno in the summer according to the Telegraph. Losing him wouldn’t be great but bidding war wouldn’t be the worst scenario for him (unless he has a release clause?). He’d be a luge loss no doubt but I wonder if the club would welcome a bid for him if it allows t...

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

The ideal situation would be to get a young good value back-up striker with potential from overseas who can play out wide if needed. Been linked with 21yo league one striker Ricky Jade-Jones. 12 goals for Peterborough and apparently the best presser in the league. Worth a punt at the reported 2 mil...

Re: Weekend football - 20/21 April 2024

They definitely don't though. I remember the table Vs the ' table if the correct calls were made ' comparisons I've never seen one of these. I've seen biased ones put together by fans who conveniently forget the ones in their favour, and I've seen the "if there's no VAR" table (which isn't the same...
