Re: Signing #1: Martin Dubravka

Dubravka > Elliot > Darlow > Woodman.

Think Woodman may end up being better than Elliot and Darlow. Also not sure how the latest round of injuries will have impacted on Elliot, could even be 4th choice now.

For me Dubravka is miles better than the other 3. Not much between the other 3.

Team for Huddersfield

With everyone back for apart from Rob Elliott, what would your team be for the home game against Huddersfield on Saturday. I doubt it'll happen but I'd like to see us revert to the classic 3-5-2 with this: <dubravka> <schar> <fernandez> <flj> <yedlin> <shelvey> <longstaff> <ki> <ritchie> <almiron> <...

Re: Who was your first Newcastle United idol?

Shearer and Sir Bobby Robson.

The Sir Bobby days are the first I'm old enough to remember. It has all been down hill since then!

Palace, Brighton, Swansea, Milwall etc all into the QF of the FA Cup. The way it’s going Man C will draw Chelsea/Man U and someone s*** is getting to the final this year. Palace v Brighton Watford v Wolves Millwall v Swansea Chelsea / Man Utd v Man City Would be a good draw. Guarantee a lower leagu...

They've drawn 14 of their 31 games.

Glad they've found the wreckage. At least it'll give the familys of Sala the pilot a bit of closure.

So sad what's happened.

Agreed. s**** sport almost impossible to watch. Break in play every other minute so they can swap players and have 5 mins of adverts.

Also all that body armour and helmets and they don't even tackle properly, it's grappling at best. Beyond pathetic.

Re: Match thread - Spurs v Toon

Debravka is by a wide margin our best keeper. Dropping him for one mistake is demented. You really want Darlow or Elliot in his place?! Lol no This. Dubravka had only made two mistakes in his year here. Today and Man Utd a few weeks ago. Other than that he's been brilliant and won us far more point...

Re: Match thread - Spurs v Toon

Problem is we are running out of games now. All season we’ve had excuses that we have winnable games coming up and we’ve proved that we struggle to win any game. I feel really pissed off today as the times we did attack spurs we looked dangerous but we just didn’t do it enough. I dont think they pl...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Also, this potential fourth player - I presume we all hope it will be a striker. I wonder if it could be Rondon? A permanent transfer would still count as a transfer. I saw a story the other week implying that Hayden could be used as a makeweight for a permanent deal for Rondon. If Samaris is confi...

Deals agreed for Almiron, Barreca and Samaris tonight. All subject to medicals but they should help to improve the atmosphere a bit.

Re: Match thread - Toon vs Citeh

The atmosphere is going to be toxic tonight by the sound of things. People planning to throw stuff on the pitch, people taking whistles to force the game to be stopped, the leaflet thing, suggestions of possible pitch invasions and storming the directors box have all been mentioned on twitter. The c...

Re: Match thread - Toon vs Citeh

as much as I dislike Mourinho he was smart enough to take Rondon out of the game in our first game of 2019 and force us to find other ways to create scoring opportunities (we failed at that, of course). I expect Pep to do the same. I just kind of hope Rafa has something ready to counter that (I kno...

Does the club still stream radio on its website? I'm working and the BBC doesn't let you access BBC Newcastle if not local.

Team for Watford

Normally we change players for cup games and with 3 games in the next week it would be understandable. However on this occasion I'd go full strength against Watford and next week and rest players on Tuesday. The City game is going to end in defeat regardless of our team whereas Watford are beatable ...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (January 2019)

Fernandez deserves to be in the starting XI. It's getting pretty tough to pick between our CBs. If anything El Capitan has maybe been in the worst form of them. I'd say pick them in this order: Lejeune > Fernandez > Schar > Lascelles > Clark Not much in it though. It's a good problem to have though...
