Re: Has Ashley lowered his asking price for NUFC to £300m?

If he made us successful I'm sure we could turn a blind eye to all the atrocities in the same way Man City fans have.

That said it would be preferable if we got an owner who's also a decent person. Can't have everything though.

Re: First game advice?

As BB says the Metrocentre will be best if your're heading up the A1 from the South. If you're coming from the North then Gosforth Park Park & Ride or Kingston Park Tesco (free parking then a a metro ride to the city centre) are good options just off the A1 North of the city. I'd avoid driving into ...

Re: First game advice?

You'll be welcomed in all pubs and there is a lot of them. Newcastle is quite unique in that we don't have any designated home/away only pubs. All fans are welcome in all pubs. If it's your first time then I'd recommend the Strawberry. It's a stones throw from the ground and always has a good atmosp...

Re: Rodgers in?

This would be disastrous. He's one of the biggest frauds in football. He'd end up like Pardew but worse. The guys **** is on another level. Also Rafa should never be sacked anyway. He's done a magnificent job in beyond challenging circumstances. Last season he got what was a pretty much a championsh...

Re: Magpie Group open public meeting audio 03/10/18

I'll give that a listen later on. Should be intresting, if I was still living in Newcastle I would have went. This from Caulkin is a good read. Summarises the meeting and also discusses the King Kev talk in and the eventful meal. You have never known true love until you have seen Kevin Keegan take t...

Turns out the minutes released aren't an accurate reflection of what was said. What a shock. The club have tried to mislead fans once again.

Re: Steve Bruce no longer a villian

Shame for Bruce. He's one of the few genuinely decent blokes in management. Been a tough year for him personally losing both parents and he was doing a good job at Villa. I doubt his replacement will do better. Very disrespectful from the cabbage thrower and club in general though I suppose you can'...

Re: Kevin Keegan - “I came up against a wall of incompetence, deceit & arrogance”

Caulkins take is spot on and well put as always. On Friday lunchtime, Rafa Benítez was asked about his contract at Newcastle United. The manager — one of the best of his generation — is in the final year of his employment at St James’ Park and the uncertainty about his position is a source of anguis...

It's ridiculous. Look at Bellew and Everton, that is how it should be done.

Summarises how out of touch this ownership are with the fan base and local community.

Re: Kevin Keegan - “I came up against a wall of incompetence, deceit & arrogance”

More frm NUFC.com Monday's Times newspaper published a second extract from Kevin Keegan's forthcoming book: My last job ended in rancour and recriminations and my final game as a manager was a 3–0 defeat at Arsenal in August 2008 that will probably always be remembered for the television cameras pi...

Re: Match day - Palace v NUFC

Are many people saying that they want Rafa sacked? Yes there's frustration with seemingly negative tactics, but I don't here many saying it's time for him to go (which would be mental). The only place I've seen it is on here. It goes without saying that it would be complete madness. He did very wel...

By far our best 11 (Lejeune aside). Hopefully we can win though Zaha diving and referee bias will make this difficult.

Kevin Keegan - “I came up against a wall of incompetence, deceit & arrogance”

Nobody has ever officially told me I am banned from St James’ Park. Sometimes, though, you know when you are not welcome, and it is almost a decade now since it became apparent that, as far as the people at the top of Newcastle United are concerned, I will always be persona non grata as long as the...

Re: The Match Tickets Thread

Can't really blame them. Last season Rafa and the squad performed out of their skins to finish a magnificent 10th which on paper was beyond the quality of the squad. That was the perfect season to build off and push the squad on to the next level (a top 10 quality squad). What happened in the summe...
