Re: No trophies, little investment and two relegations – when will fans finally recognise Mike Ashley as a genius?

I read this earlier. Brilliantly written article.

Caulkin is by far the best of the journalists who covers us. He truly gets it (think he's a fan anyway so that's probably why) and he's a fantastic writer.

Re: Profits without fan attendance

Unlike some are quite reliant on matchday income still. Relegation hit us hard in 2017 as the latest accounts showed. Even before that we were reliant on matchday income now though. In a way it's unsurprising, we forefit a lot of sponsor income to by allowing free advertising for Ashleys other busin...

Extent of the damage Ashley inflicted onto Rangers

This is a very intresting listen. Lasts half an hour but well worth the time. It's two Rangers fans explaining what damage Ashley caused to Rangers. Provides details on accounts and court cases etc. Most poignant point is, if that is what he has done with a 10% stake at Rangers, what has he done wit...

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m Done Deal

The team was definitely visibly better with him in it. At the time we had two no nonsense CBs (Iron Mike & Saylor) and Colo as a more cultured ball playing CB. He complimented his partner and his partner complimented him. It was a good combination. Also regardless of playing style, Colo was the best...

Re: Squad numbers 2018/19 confirmed

I'm pretty surprised one of Elliot or Darlow hasn't left. I mean, I'm sure we don't want to keep Woodman around as third choice when he could instead be playing every day elsewhere, but I'd have though Karl or Rob would want a chance to play. Elliot is 32 - would have gladly let him go and I'm sure...

Re: Match day - NUFC v Spurs

Yeah lets completely write the lad off before he gets a chance. Everyone develops at different times. Just because you haven't established yourself by the time your 20 doesn't mean you never will. Look at Jamie Vardy he was playing non-league until he was 25 and has now won a premier league title, p...

Re: Match day - NUFC v Spurs

Benefits of my formation we don't have to play Manquillo That is a bonus but still not worth the risk I'd say. Could give Sterry an opportunity to show if he's good enough for this level. The other option would be Hayden, not his natural position but Rafa has used him at RB before and he probably w...

Re: Match day - NUFC v Spurs

If we are playing that wouldn't it make more sense to move Dummett inside and play Kenedy wing back? Very defensive otherwise against a team we should be aiming to take three points from. That said I think I'd just bring Manquillo in and keep the same formation. I'd say start Rondon but that's actu...

Re: Federico Fernandez 6m Done Deal

Colo was great for a couple of seasons. Probably consistently our best player over those years and we had some decent players. Sadly though, he's tarnished by his last season where he was pretty awful and seemed to just give up at times. Same as everything, it takes a lot to build a reputation. Whic...

Judging by that response it seems Ashley/Charnley/Barnes/Bishop are absolutely rattled. The pressure from all angles (manager, players, fans and politicians) seems to be getting to them.

Re: NUFC Club & Players in media related bonus bust up

Yep, agree with that TJR. Stuff like this is surely basic bread and butter stuff for most clubs. As said, I remember this happening last year too. It's Ashley strangling every last penny that he can out of the place. The money probably doesn't even really matter, but it'll create ill-feeling in the...

Re: NUFC Club & Players in media related bonus bust up

They didn't do any media after Braga or Augsburg either. Released a statement via Rafa after the Braga game saying it was nothing personal towards the media and purely a dispute with the club. Which led to some of Rafas comments after Braga backing the players and criticising the club. Ashley/Barnes...

Watched the first 45 mins of The Hateful Eight. What an absolute pile of self-indulgent s***.
Slow starting for sure but a bit harsh there!
It's a slow start but worth persevering. Brilliant film.

Re: Weekend Football 3-5 August

Genius from Lampard. Reckon he's going to go on to be one of the all time greats. Derby will win the league this year and he'll move on to bigger things in a couple of years time.

Great header to win it at the end there. What a time to score a winner as well.

Season ticket arrived today. Wherever the extra TV money is going it's not here. After last year's fancy 125 year thing, and the usual load of magpie mover details etc, this year's is just glued to a bit of card in a tiny envelope. Wow. Mine arrived today as well. Apparently they will also be sendi...

Re: NUFC close to breaking point. Rafa rightly lays into club.

Have we though? We've not lost anyone key (I'll miss Mitro but Rafa won't), we've tied down Dubravka, got Kenedy for a full season and signed another two. Even if we sign no one else at all (and I hope we will now the Mitro money is in) it's not a step back. You could argue it's a failure to step f...
