Re: MIDWEEK FOOTBALL - 7/9 JULY 2020

Glad Villa are off.

If Norwich beat West Ham and Bournemouth beat Leicester at the weekend, the dream Villa EmWest Ham double relegation will be on.

Wouldn't mind us throwing our game against Watfird either to further aid the cause.

Re: Match day - Man City v Newcastle United

Can'tbsay I'm bothered at all about the result. I sat down to watch the game expecting a heavy defeat and it went exactly how I thought it would. Man City were never going to lose two in a row they were going to give whoever they played next a spanking and we got it. The starting line up was atrocio...

Stamp duty holiday: no duty paid up to £500k. My partner and I are looking to move and this should hopefully save us about £6k. <diva> I'm not normally a tory voter but it has to be said that Rishi Sunak has done a brilliant job with his handling of the coronavirus. The economic support packages he...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v West Ham

Sick of these drinks breaks. We were playing well and that destroyed out momentum. They're basically not required and yet another introduction that is ruining a free-flowing sport. I can understand why they'd consider it given we're playing in July, but whenever they've done it at summer tournament...

I'd have went with Lazaro over Joe but otherwise I'm happy with that line up.

Re: What's the verdict on VAR?

I think the idea is good just the execution isn't great. The referee should be able to use it as a tool to assist him with his decision being final. Similar to how it is used in Rugby Union. It should all be shown on big screens in stadiums so fans know what is going on. Also the ref and var should ...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC v West Ham

Would anyone rest ASM today, hes played the majority of every game and before bournemouth there were concerns he was starting to get tired with the quick turnaround of games. I'd probably not take the risk and start lazaro over him today. Nah I'd start him. He was substituted very early against Bou...

Importance of ASM

Our record when he starts is incredible. He completely transforms the team. With him in the team we average 1.89 points per game which would see us finish in the Champions League places. Without him starting we average 0.57 points per game which would comfortably see us finish bottom. https://twitte...

Re: Premier League - Final Table Prediction

Good work mate <ok> Isnt 8th the last Europa spot though? Because of City's europe ban? 8th will be a Europa spot if the FA Cup winner finishes 7th or higher. So as long as Arsenal don't win the FA Cup essentially. If Arsenal do win the FA cup then they get a Europa place instead of whoever finishe...

Premier League - Final Table Prediction

Although Liverpool are already Premier League champions there is still an awful lot to play for. With there only being 6 games left, it's now at the stage where completing the Premier League table predictor isn't too arduous a task. Teams in Champions League battle Leicester Chelsea Man Utd Wolves A...

Re: FOOTBALL FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

Isn't 8th going to be a Europa spot too thanks to naughty Man City? I'm not entirely sure but I think it depends on who wins the FA Cup and where they finish in the league. Though I'd be surprised if Man City, Man Utd & Chelsea don't finish top 7. So as long as Arsenal don't win the FA Cup then 8th...

Re: FOOTBALL FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

It's crazy to think we're 10 points off 5th (which is currently a Champions League place unless Man City win their appeal) and 15 points off relegation. We're one win off 8th and only 4 points from 7th (which will probably be a Europa League place this season).

Re: Match day thread - Bournemouth v NUFC

We were brilliant to watch today. Another top performance from ASM as well. He wouldn't look out of place in the Liverpool or Man City team on his current form. I know Bournemouth are awful and have seemingly gave up on trying to fight for survival but even so we played some great football. Hopefull...

Re: Match day thread - Bournemouth v NUFC

Brucey playing the mind games. Saying it was impossible for ASM to play and then starting him. Will be intresting to see how we line up with those players. Unless he's changing formation to a 4-3-3, I'd guess it'll be: Dubravka Krafth Lascelles Fernandez Manquillo Bentaleb Shelvey StMaximin Longstaf...

Re: Match day thread - Bournemouth v NUFC

In normal circumstances we should win but Bruce has said the players are too tired and that he's planning heavy rotation. Therefore I'd say a draw would be a very good result.

I wouldn't be too against a narrow defeat if it aided the West Ham & Aston Villa relegation cause.

Re: New squad after potential takeover

Sensible move. As other have pointed out a homegrown player to replace Elliott as third choice. He'll probably never play for us and will be very little in terms of wages. No transfer fee involved as well. Also it allows Woodman to go out on loan again to continue his development, unless we sell Dar...

Re: Match thread - NUFC v Citeh - FA cup QF

I reckon we'll somehow find a way to win today. It would be peak Newcastle to get to Wembley when fans can't attend. Also 2020 in general has been mental enough that this isn't out of the question. It's ridiculous how long it has been since we were last in an FA Cup quarter final. Shearer was still ...
