Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

I think you have to give him a bit of time to decide that, Rafa was rightly quick to drop Lascelles and stick Fernandez in, but he stuck with a woeful Shelvey throughout that horrible spell at the start of last season. Were it not for the injury I dread to think whether we'd ever have seen Ki or Lon...

£350m a week. Seems cheap
<laugh> my bad I'm sure you worked out I meant 350k <roll>
You didn't specify a currency, 350m must be correct in one of them...

Don't forget Aaron Ramsey. Highest paid British player of all time isn't he?

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

This will be a real tough one. Norwich will be right up for it, and I'm not so sure I can say the same for our boys. Despite his mistake, I'd start Willems at LWB. I would like us to go with Joelinton Almiron and ASM to start but I reckon it would leave us too short in midfield. Team for me: Dubrav...

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

Really sensible signing for me at that level, did his job well enough then we got rid. I think we'll win. No more daftness from Bruce, a midfielder on the bench, Joelinton gets 5 goals. Maybe not the last part. Yeah I thought that at the time but then he hardly played (from memory). He didn't, but ...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC V Arsenal

I'd be willing to give it a go, I'm just not sure whether he's suited to being that high up the pitch with defenders putting pressure on him.

Re: Match day thread - NUFC V Arsenal

I don't think it was helped by the formation, Shelvey holding with Hayden and Longstaff in front meant we lost the bite that they produce, and the game pretty much passed Longstaff by. I've said before though, if we move to a midfield two Shelvey can't be in it, his tanker style turning circle when ...

Re: Boycott

I think there's a massive bit of balance that's missing. There's a lot of fans that think we should have massive net spend which we're never going to have while Ashley tries to recoup the investment he made without due diligence. It's his mistake but he's not going to write that off out of the good...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC V Arsenal

Arsenal were piss poor. We didn't make the look piss poor. I'm concerned for the rest of the season, everything looked a bit random. We were more drilled under Rafa. We lost all three opening games under Rafa. First game is always a bit of a toss up, players haven't played competitive football in m...

Re: Match day thread - NUFC V Arsenal

Very harsh, it was a very poor ball to him imo I thought so too. He isn't blameless either but the pass was definitely poor. Definitely on both of them. Standard first game of the season really, nothing between the teams but one silly mistake and a world class striker to make the most of it. We wer...

Re: Weekend Football 9th - 11th August

Jamie Carragher was saying you want to see teams like Norwich taking the game to their opponents. This was when it was 2-0 after 25 minutes.
