Re: Euro 2024 - England's provisional squad

To be fair looking at this squad Olise might not get in anyway, I'm still hoping he has the balls to pull Bellingham into midfield with Rice and play Foden in his proper position. That leaves room for Gordon on the left and a superb front 6.

Who would have predicted 4 Crystal Palace players in the side a year or two ago?
Merson was suggesting getting Olise to defect too...

Re: Football Titbits

I've no issue with it at all, as Don Sholeone says they'll still be back before the FA Cup final even kicks off, and having played 2 kick abouts they're even less likely to get an injury. Surely better now than playing a game during the "mid-season break" or even the daft Far East/US tours just bef...

Re: Euro 2024 - England's provisional squad

Don't really understand why our lads are joining up late, especially with the SJP friendly weekend after next.

Best we can hope for is 7th because I don't see Chelsea losing at home to Bournemouth.

Must win for us because I can see Utd getting a result at Brighton. If we turn up, we'll win. Big if though - you've just never known what to expect from us this season.

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

Our purple puma one from 08/09 is one my my modern favourites (still got mine with 'Jonas' on the back and in pretty good condition still). Shame we got relegated that season <laugh> I think my all time favourites are the 97-99 home shirt (first one I owned) and the 99-00 home shirt. Ahem, Adidas. ...

Not going to keep going on about the result, but Wolves must be delighted this happened literally hours after their statement. Gordon ridiculously eloquent as always.

Ours should be soon judging by the big temporary club shop t...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U

And I don't just say that in a "stay positive and think what we were" sense, I say that in a completely practical sense. Look at the teams directly above and below us and consider how their wage bills and transfer outlay compare to ours. Outside of Villa who are having a fantastic season the other t...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U

You can say the same for manure though, and apart from their late resurgence, Chelsea too. That's why you have Europa Leage and Europa Conference. That's where we're at after this season. Do we deserve Champions League? Hell no! Do we deserve some form of European football. As it stands. Yes. At ti...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Man U

Think that's very harsh, and if ours is there's isn't much better. It's just an open game and the two goals we've conceded were pretty naff mistakes (individual error and a tactical issue). We're very much in this, just poor finishing of our couple of chances.

The absolute state of Sky's panel. 3 ex players, and Andy Cole is the closest thing to a Newcastle voice.

If that was against us and a team got that as a pen I’d be unhappy tbh. Not for me. Burn unlucky.
Amrabat went studs in on Gordon's ankle, the ref clearly doesn't see it.

Re: Weekend Football (Matchweek 37)

It was an extremely short lived animosity based solely on that relegation last game. They still got a "you laughed at us" chant at Villa Park this season, but there's no bite. Fair play to them and good luck in the Champions League.
