Re: International Breaks

Best bit is that was a teatime kickoff, 3 hours later Wirtz scored for Germany in 7 seconds which would have broke the record otherwise...

Re: Weekend football - 16/17 March 2024

I think it was on the ref watch thing on Sky where someone pointed out that law came in 25 years ago, before he was even born. Barely anyone does it now and they always get booked, that's why it's saved for special occasions like that Jonas goal v West Ham.

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

Did you get any names/numbers?

Just had a follow up email refunding my postage as a good will gesture. They've had "delays in the warehouse due to personalized (yes, with a z) items", which makes it slightly silly they offered free personalisation again this weekend.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread

The club claim they're fake, but lots of people online are reporting they've bought them and they've worked. Who knows.

Re: Football Titbits

I get that, but at the same time Forest's transfer policy last season was absurd. How is it fair on say Luton if they're allowed to break the rules that are in place?

The fact Man City keep getting away with it is a separate point of course.

Re: 23/24 NUFC Kits Thread

So I'm now at 16 working days, chased them last week where they told me it can take 10-14 days "as advised". Website still says 7-10 and they had another free personalisation sale this weekend. Now wondering what will come first, these or our new Adidas kits.

Re: Weekend football - 16/17 March 2024

Can't blame the rules, just two profoundly stupid yellows that means he presumably misses the semi?

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

I think that's fair, but you were suggesting he was getting beat on 1:1s, when both goals have seen him face two men. Our big issue (as usual) is communication and anticipation, when we have the ball we're making wrong decisions and without we're just not getting it back. That break from Doku a bit...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

They both come from Willock not tracking his man, Joelinton doesn't do that.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

I genuinely think that if everyone was fit and available, we'd be more in this. Heavy favourites against still of course - best team in the world. We are missing our first choice goalkeeper and influential midfielder. I purposely phrase it that way, because same can be said of Man City. We are no w...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

It's a bit of both for me. He's a CB out of position and it's telling, but he's being put in a position to fail That gets at it for me actually. He's being directed to play so narrow, which consistently leaves him having to pick between the ball and the overlapping run, and he's then left in no man...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

If Burn isn't getting torched for pace, he's back peddling scared away from the ball to avoid them beating him 1:1. He's basically become an Iron Mike fullback. I think this is really harsh, second game on the bounce he's getting no cover. For the goal Silva wasn't his man, he was getting overlappe...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

Burn can do it, it's just in a back 5 I'd prefer a little more balance. Suspect it'll end up a flat back 4 at times with Murphy advanced, so not quite a Rafa/Bruce lineup.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Citeh

Burn at wing back, no sign of Tino. It's very defensive, would have liked to have seen Targett start if we were setting up like that.

Re: The Match Tickets Thread

Yet in the resale if I've been kicked out of the clubs' website because they think I'm a robot! <grr> Reckon you'd have a better chance if you were a robot. Good luck to both of you. I'm about to feel the joy of resale attempts for Euros tickets next week after failing miserably in the two ballots ...

We also didn't know Barnes would be injured instantly, but even in his fleeting appearances he's produced at times already.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Chelsea

Honestly I'd rather he just "experiment" by playing our outstanding 3 man midfield (Rice, Bellingham, Foden) in their correct positions, he's still been throwing Henderson and TAA in there. The nice experiment would have been that with Gordon on the left, but maybe not now...
