Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
I think he's still finding his way, and that's mainly due to his age. He's clearly decent with the ball, but often finds himself in odd positions where he can just be in the way (not helped by playing out wide Saturday). He was also baffled several times by multiball throwins for both sides... I wou...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Seagulls
in fairness Murphy had a great game vs Burnley, and Barnes was off the pace today Agree completely, and Krafth who most would certainly dismiss is average was probably our best player. We're as guilty as any fans of assuming the players not playing are better than those that are and Howe is getting...

Re: Days lost through injury
Schar potentially back available, causing carnage to my FPL Draft which had Krafth in as a "guaranteed starter". I suspect he'll be in for Man Utd.

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
Sorry yes definitely the liner, but it was so close that he definitely shouldn't have flagged. Maybe it doesn't go in without the whistle, but we shouldn't have to wonder that.

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
Inexplicably weird reffing there, why has he given such a tight offside? I'm not saying UEFA are corrupt as ****, but I can't find another way to finish this sentence.

VAR checking whether he's scored 1 or he's scored 2.

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
Turned that on at the right time, screamer from Davies and a hilarious disallowed Madrid goal. Think it's approaching Jos time.

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
Putting aside my joy at PSG going out, an all German Champions League final (where neither team won the Bundesliga) in a season where the Super League reared it's head again and most PL clubs are raising ticket prices to "be able to compete while complying with FFP" would be absolutely delightful. ...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
I acknowledge this is a ridiculous and completely illogical viewpoint, but I've always hated when the best players from teams are poached by PL "big clubs", and that hasn't changed now we potentially are one. Hated it when Brighton got torn apart at the start of this season, hated it when that good ...

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
I want them to win it... If that means another season of ETH for them I'm pretty sure that Man City not winning the cup will negatively effect us in terms of european places. If we finish 5th, it's moot. But whilst we are in good form and Spurs are not, it's still moot. And they have the Sheffield ...

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024
They could be 5 points behind us by that point with any luck.
I'm still just s***ting it that they somehow beat City in the cup.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
Interesting that there were a few comments last week about Murphy being useless - and here we saw is speed and decisiveness in finding players in the box. Hes defo a step up on Almiron imo We need to keep him Even when we were s*** he was productive in terms of goals and assists, like a less flashy...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
Burn was completely found out this year and it's been clear to see in many games, last season is last season, we can only judge the now and he was getting shredded almost weekly at LB. Disagree with this completely. A handful of errors maybe, but massively overstated and far fewer gamebreakers than...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
Let's not forget though that the shoehorned LB was part of the joint meanest defence in the league last season. Dan Burn hasn't become a bad LB overnight, and a lot of goals conceded are a combination of the absurd amount of forced rotation at the back, a lack of protection from the midfield (that p...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley
Cost me a Krafth clean sheet more importantly. I'd have had a Barnes assist had he not shot straight at the keeper too. I think I might have fallen out with him.
