Re: Rugby Union

Who's watching the World Cup, some good games today! I am, but watching them all on replay rather than live, apart from the England games. Aus Fiji was great for the first 60 or so minutes, NZ SA also very entertaining throughout. Not seen the France game yet as I had the score ruined for me so mig...

At least I was there for his one and only touchdown from Brady.

Re: EURO 2020

How ever would we have lived.
I'd much rather see Germany beat San Marino 13-0 again, that will be much better for the development of smaller nations.

Re: EURO 2020

Very few sports are as universal as football, where very few countries don't have a national team under FIFA. Seeding major tournaments rather than qualifying just enforces a money making status quo with the stronger teams getting stronger and the weaker sides not getting to improve. In my lifetime...

Re: The F1 Thread

I agree with him in that their should be a fixed panel of race stewards for the entire season to promote consistency one way or the other. I do think it’s getting blown up a little bit, it’s hardly Schumacher sending Barichello towards a solid concrete wall head on stuff. It was right on the edge b...

I dunno, I quite liked it - it was right on the edge but you don’t win races by being Mr Nice Guy.
He didn't need to do it, he had the racing line and was slightly ahead
Just read Palmer's article too.

They should let the top n ranked nations in then have wild cards. Let those play a tournament or groups to qualify without needing to have the farcical games.
Ridiculous. Should we have a European Super League too?
Not that ridiculous when you look at how other sports operate.

Re: Cricket

They need to bin off Jason Roy and the rest of our openers, just find a field with some lads playing cricket and bang them in, would be an improvement at the least. Roy's had enough chances, but I think Burns has shown he can play, just needs to do it more consistently. We are truly awful 1-3 thoug...

Re: The F1 Thread

Haven’t seen the crash so can’t comment. As for the race, another decent one I thought. Good for Le Clerc to get his first win albeit under difficult circumstances, he’s had some bad luck this season so deserved that. Another lap and Hamilton probably would have got him. Lots of action down the fie...

Re: The Message of Hate Thread

Hurricanes My Dad is in West Palm Beach and called me yesterday as he's pretty close to the predicted landfall. He's hunkered down with a few cases of red wine and will see it out. Good luck to him. We're hoping now in Miami it's not going to slam into us full strength, but having to prepare all th...

Ocon to join Renault next season and Hulkenberg is out and rumoured to be replacing Grosjean at Haas.

I cant see any team giving Grosjean a drive next season.

Re: Boycott

Hindsight is a wonderful win, but if the boycott had been planned for a couple of months into the season when the Bruce disaster was in full swing then more people would have stayed away. Doing it on the first game of the season was never going to be that successful. The problem is, we shouldn't be...

Didn't Chelsea do it 29 times and try to hide it? Where as City just played kids on trial in non-competitive matches, and co-operated?

Re: Boycott

I can forgive errors. What I'll never accept is the lack of ambition. Whether or not you think Rafa was the right manager for us, this quote epitomizes Ashley's reign I think if he could achieve his ambition to make money along with the ambition of footballing success he probably would (because it ...

Re: Boycott

I think there's a massive bit of balance that's missing. There's a lot of fans that think we should have massive net spend which we're never going to have while Ashley tries to recoup the investment he made without due diligence. It's his mistake but he's not going to write that off out of the good...

Re: Boycott

Legally, sure. Don't know why any fans would defend him crippling the club though. I think it's more a case of debating than defending as there seems to be a mantra not wholly correct when it comes to our owner and the way he runs our club. Oh there are definitely Ashley Apologists out there who ar...

Re: Boycott

Which may well have been the stalling point in past takeovers. All the bids seem to go quiet once they've done due diligence and had the chance to see these contracts. Of course they are then under an NDA. He's well within his rights to do so i might add as much as it pisses some off. Legally, sure...
