Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley

I think this squad would easily be where Villa are had it not been for incredible bad luck / bad management of injuries. But a quality right winger and those defensive reinforcements as you say would put us in a very strong position for next year I think.

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley

Agree that they need to be at their best more often than not, but we’re a long way from being in a position where we can have to XIs packed full of top top players, so it’s important to have a Murphy type player. Plus he’ll be more than good enough for the early rounds of the europa or conference le...

Re: Matchday thread - Toon v Burnley

I was thinking this earlier about Murphy strangely, if you offered my Murphy or £90m Antony, I’d pick Murphy every day. Yes he doesn’t always do it, but he has clearly shown improvement over the last couple of years, seems like a total pro, never complains, does a job when called upon, and seems goo...

Re: Weekend football - 2/6 May 2024

First half hattrick for Haaland and barely a beep from City fans. I wonder at what point winning becomes boring from a fans perspective…

A draw keeps them in it, but if Forest beat Sheffield Utd they’re as good as down.

Re: Sandro Tonali Deal Confirmed? You bet!

Lucky boy, As mentioned before match fixing isn't the only issue it's influencing the market I don't really buy into that argument, one bet even if it's 10k or whatever is barely going to change odds when in the grand scheme it's going to be nothing in terms of the volume of bets during the week/we...

Yeah - Dortmund are the ‘little guy’ of those remaining so would be great to stick two fingers up to Real, PSG and Bayern.

Tho joking aside about him, Kane has been so good for his entire career that I wouldn’t actually mind Bayern winning it.

Bloody ell I've forgotten how cheap the beer is in Budapest!
More context. Less than £2 a pint and 65p a can. Hungarian wine not too bad either

Google most websites on footballers supposed salaries and it’s the answer that comes out.
That's f***ing ridiculous if that's true. Jesus.
I think he was on decent money at Villa and when we signed him he got a pay rise.

Re: Transfer Rumours/Wishlist

On Targett, well as he did when we initially signed him….£100k a week!! Jesus wept. Even if he’s sold, nobody is paying that wage so we either sell on the cheap or we have to subsidise his wages as he won’t take a pay cut (and why should he, he get given a contract). I don’t mind if he stays tbh, i...
