Re: Kit Thread 19/20

Not sure what's rookie about that, I got Cabaye's name on it immediately after the Darlo friendly, it was that obvious he was going to be decent. Haha I didn't mean it in that way, I loved Cabaye and still do. Brilliant player. I meant more in the case of getting a players name in general, not much...

Re: Kit Thread 19/20

I only started following football late in life, and for my son's started following Newcastle despite not being close to local. That was the first shirt I owned. Pretty sure I did the rookie mistake of getting Cabaye on the back as well <laugh>

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

https://twitter.com/BVB/status/1131125645789081600 Opportunity lost I shall never forgive you <fist> Just saw as well that Dortmund have signed Julian Brandt. Some good strengthening to replace Pulisic. Suppose looking long term with Reus a bit long in the tooth as well. Brandt, Hazard, Sancho and ...

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

Chelsea ladies manager Emma Hayes being linked as a distant outsider for the men's team role should Sarri leave this summer. I don't follow the women's league, at all, but on paper she has quite a good CV. Highly unlikely, but could be a very interesting appointment. I’d have no issue with a woman ...

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

I still think Lampard needs a few more years to cut his teeth in management before he can take the reins of a big club with above average expectations. He's done well with Derby this year and if they get promotion then he'll be closely watched by the Chelsea board as a future manager. I will point ...

Re: Man City referred to Uefa financial body

Do they need one? Otamendi, Laporte, Stones. Need a fourth choice but not necessarily a superstar. Although they do spend money they haven't spent mega mega levels yet. Mahrez for 60m still their record. Which is absurd on its own, but for different reasons. I'm surprised clubs aren't being heavily...

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

They're now linked with Sessegnon which feels more sensible. Different positions, and Man U need strengthening in both, so not unfeasible they wouldn't go for both. I don't see us entertaining any idea of selling Longstaff this summer, would take a kind of fee that he's nowhere near worth yet. As f...

Re: The Managerial Merry-Go-Round Thread

Rafa still has quite a good reputatio in Italy doesn't he? I doubt if he would be first choice for Juventus, but they could do a lot worse. Would surely be tempting.

Re: Brighton sack Hughton

I completely forgot about Pulis in my old cloggers list. Perfect for Charnley and Ashley. Failed previously, out of work, possibly cheap. Not sure if Pulis would take the crap, but I'm sure he was "head coach" at wba not manager.

Re: Playoffs

Hughton being linked to WBA. Would be a good appointment for that. Proven in that league and in terms of promotions. I'm sure he's no fan of the ownership but might even do us a favour with Rondon? <awe>

Zaha also wants to leave Palace, wonder where he'll end up. Undoubtedly talented but I do think he's over-hyped.
Dortmund to replace Sancho if he ends up leaving? Spurs have long been suitors for him as well. Palace supposedly ready to demand 80m, he's nowhere near that good.

Not NUFC ( but EX NUFC .. ) rumour today of Patrick Van Aaholt to Man Utd - Is he that good ? Or have United become that bad ?
Hah I saw that. Double swoop for him and Wan-Bissaka for some absurd figure. I think it's more the latter. He's surely no better than midtable, Van Aanholt.

Re: NUFC Minor/Untrusted Transfer Rumours (Summer 2019)

Yeah I saw that. What's that about? Playing a friendly overseas before the end of the season, daft. Only thing I can imagine is that it was scheduled a while ago for the end of the premier league season, over looking the fact they might have finals to be in.

Why the **** is the final on a bastard monday. Bank holiday or not. It should be the sunday, if anything.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday for the three football league playoff finals.
That makes sense actually, thanks. Guess I'll be watching the league 1 final <laugh>

Re: Playoffs

If Leeds fail to come up, as it looks at the moment, I wonder if Bielsa will get a premier league job? Brighton?
