Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

Didn't Bruce say it was a mistake to name four defenders and no midfield cover on the bench last weekend?

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

No s*** he made a mistake, baffling. Playing a new player out of position after naming an overly defensive bench. Supposedly hired Bruce for his prem experience, and because no one else wanted the job, yet he's making glaring errors on day one. Obviously he needs time to settle in but he hasn't sta...

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

This will be a real tough one. Norwich will be right up for it, and I'm not so sure I can say the same for our boys. Despite his mistake, I'd start Willems at LWB. I would like us to go with Joelinton Almiron and ASM to start but I reckon it would leave us too short in midfield. Team for me: Dubrav...

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

Yeah I thought that at the time but then he hardly played (from memory). He didn't, but that's the point of those signings. Useful back up who can go straight in at that level and look fine. Hughton did the same with Hall and Khizanishvili, though Hughton also remembered to just get them on loan so...

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

I think it'll be the same starting line up as Sunday. ASM has a tight hamstring apparently but Shelvey is fit according to SB's press conference this morning. Also said he made a mistake playing Willems in CM so there will likely be a CM on the bench. No s*** he made a mistake, baffling. Playing a ...

Re: Match thread - Norwich V NUFC

Dubravka Schar Lascelles Dummett Manquillo Ki Longstaff Willems Saint-Maximim Almiron Joelinton Darlow, Ritchie, Clark, Hayden, Shelvey, Muto, Gayle. Bench can be rotated a bit, but I'd like to see that. Maybe swap Ki and Hayden around. Away or not this is the kind of game where we need get points o...

Yeah I think that's the supposed reason for the leniency, admitting at first instance. Chelsea got a bigger fine as well.

Re: Weekend Football 9th - 11th August

Tbf Norwich caused some problems going forward... we have to punish them when we attack because we will concede We've got a pretty decent defense these days in fairness. It's probably too early to say but Norwich for me is at the very least a must compete, if not a must win. We need to get points f...

Re: Squads oot

Personally would have left one of Darlow/Elliot our and brought Aarons in, but it’s a risky move so overall I’m happy with that Same. I don’t think it’s a risk doing that. Chances are we’re never going to need to play our third choice keeper so it’s very low risk and gives you more versatility. And...

Re: Boycott

To each their own, but as Colly said, at this stage it seems like cutting off your nose to spite your face. It often feels a bit self-righteous to me, because I'm not sure what they expect to accomplish? I'm still of the mind Ashley would gladly sell and get another 350m of money to spend on more f...

Charlie Austin to WBA for £4M
That's a good move. I would've took him at that price for sure. Injury record not the best but he will replace Gayle's goals for them.

Juve have pulled out of the Dybala to Spurs deal apparently.
I heard they were under some pressure to sell after making some big transfers, but maybe the money they got for Concelo from Man C is sufficient.
Half of that fee would've gone on his replacement with Danilo.

Re: Return of Andy Carroll

Personally I wanted Welbeck . It's a free transfer, he's a local lad looking to prove something. I see there being very little risk here. One year contract as a backup player. Signed for Watford yesterday. I wouldn't have minded Welbeck either.. but Carroll on a low pay as you go packet isn't too s...
